Reviews
We really try to support local in the Tri-Cities, but at this cost we expected more in terms of portion and quality, especially when there are other places offering more for less, hoping this was just an off night.
Highly highly recommend this place.
First, food is definitely the sole highlight here. Sandwich was great – fresh ingredients and tasted good. Meatball soup had a good assortment of ingredients and was tasty. My four point pizza review of the Colonel Mustard:
Crust: 5/5 – Good consistent thickness, just the right texture, and awesome charred flavor.
Sauce: 5/5 – I don’t believe I’ve ever had mustard on a pizza before, nor would I have considered it, but it works very well with this combination. Described as ‘honey mustard’ it was more mustard than sweetness.
Toppings: 4/5 – Good freshness and distribution of ingredients. There was considerably less cabbage than I expected from the menu description.
Preparation: 4/5 – Well cooked, and again I will emphasize the fire charring was most excellent. The cabbage was dry and not tossed in a BBQ aioli, so one of the ingredients was totally missing.
So overall the food was really great, but service left much to be desired. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, but most of the staff appeared visibly stressed. It took only 15 minutes to receive our food, but we never saw our server again after that, and after waiting for a box and the check after we were done eating, another server finally picked up on my staring and realized we were ready. No one ever asked how our meal was. FOH organization was lacking, and everyone was trying to do everything which was actually counterproductive. My takeaway is to order their excellent food to go in the future and skip the dining room.
Service though left plenty to be desired. We waited almost 40 mins for our 12” pizzas to come. We were there on a Friday evening around 5:45 pm, but it wasn’t full – several empty tables. We assumed they must really cater to online/pickup orders. And that’s what we’d recommend – don’t bother going in-person and have to wait that long.
Salad was fine. Overall food was quite expensive. I’m not a fan of dropping $25 for a 12” pizza that takes a long time to come.
But when it arrived, it was definitely tasty.
Upon entering Stick Stone Wood Fired Pizza, the warm and inviting atmosphere strikes you immediately. The rustic charm of the place, with its wooden interiors and dim lighting, sets the perfect mood for a casual dining experience. The aroma of wood-fired pizzas wafting through the air adds to the allure, making you anticipate the meal ahead.
Food Quality:
The highlight of Stick Stone is, undoubtedly, their pizzas. The crust, true to its wood-fired heritage, is perfectly charred and crispy, offering that delightful crunch with every bite. The toppings are fresh, abundant, and well-balanced in flavor. The Margherita pizza, with its simple yet impactful taste, is a must-try. However, the menu, while focused, could benefit from a few more creative options for those seeking variety.
Service:
The service at Stick Stone is commendable. Staff members are attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Our orders were taken promptly, and the pizzas arrived at our table faster than expected, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff’s ability to maintain a friendly demeanor, even during busy hours, added to the overall positive experience.
Price:
The pricing at Stick Stone is reasonable considering the quality of the food. It strikes a good balance between affordability and quality, making it a great option for both casual diners and those looking for a more special outing.
Overall Experience:
Stick Stone Wood Fired Pizza offers a delightful dining experience with its cozy ambiance, exceptional pizzas, and friendly service. The minor drawback is the limited variety in the menu, which, if expanded, could cater to a wider range of tastes. Nevertheless, for pizza lovers and those seeking a warm, inviting spot for a meal, Stick Stone is a highly recommendable choice in Richland.
The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was nice, but it’s not a place I’d return to often or even recommend.
