We stopped by for lunch and luckily bc it was not too hot we got to enjoy sitting outside. Depending on where you sit, there some spots that are under more shade and some with more sun. The restaurant does sit by a main road so it can get a bit loud at times but there is also an option to sit inside.

The service was spot on. From the moment we sat down, our server was constantly moving and she never skipped a beat on checking in and making sure we were all set.

Now, moving to the food… in ordered the pit beef sandwich and it was amazing! The meat was tender and the potato salad paired nicely with it! My fiancé got the trio slider and each meat was delicious! The pulled pork was slightly on the drier side compared to the beef and turkey.

The onion rings were also amazing! When you bite into them they did not slide off the breading and the size of it did not disappoint. The pretzel was good too, not dry and paired great with the beer cheese!

TLDR: Great BBQ spot near the Mason-Dixon line with solid smoked meats, a cool outdoor setup, and reasonable prices.

We decided to check out Stewartstown Smokehouse & Beer Barn on a Sunday for lunch, and it hit the spot. It’s tucked right near the Mason-Dixon line. The menu covers all the BBQ basics from pulled pork, brisket, and Maryland-style pit meats.

The setup is casual, with both indoor and outdoor seating. We chose a picnic table under the big outdoor awning, which also had a bar nearby. Just a heads-up the place sits right off a main road, so if you’re hoping for a super quiet meal, there is a bit of road noise.

Service was great, our waitress was quick with drinks and orders, and had us eating in no time. I went with the slider trio, which lets you pick 3 pit meats and comes with a huge pile of fries. I picked pit beef, turkey, and pulled pork. The turkey was hands down my favorite, juicy, and full of flavor. The pit beef was solid choice as well. However, the pulled pork was a little on the bland side, requiring some help from their BBQ sauce and malt vinegar. Another win was the fries. Handcut and came in a mountain-sized portion which was definitely enough to share.

Others in my group had full-sized sandwiches and agreed that the pit beef and turkey were the winners. At $13 for my trio, it was a great deal.

Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area and craving some good, no-fuss BBQ.

We stopped here for lunch after our train ride and we sat outside since it was so nice out. Our waitress was wonderful. She was really friendly and helpful! I had a pulled pork sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese and it was delicious! Reasonably priced and I recommend stopping here if your in the area

Was craving some ribs and decided to try Stewartstown Smokehouse. My husband and I both got the sweet bbq sauce and they were incredible. Great price also, both of our meals were just over $50 and we will be going home with leftovers. Staff was great and we hardly waited for our food. Will be going back in the future.

The waiter was rude and fluttered his eyes in a judgmental way. Their website falsely advertised a beer barn that has since shut down. They were “out of ribs” which is largely advertised on their website. Disappointed and feel mislead.

My husband and I ate here last Sunday lunchtime. We started with onion rings which were really great. I had a makeshift brisket sandwich with fries. They give you a chunk of brisket and I made myself a sandwich. The brisket was bland not much smoke flavor and it wasn’t seasoned. Adding house made sauce made it better but not much.

My husband had a rib and brisket combo. He said the same about the brisket and the ribs. He liked the spicy bbq sauce to add flavor. His came with fries and he chose come slaw. The meal size was generous.

I don’t think I will ever recover from having had the brisket here years ago I go back for it again every now and then I just can’t find another spot that comes anywhere close I swear I dream about it sometimes I just wish I lived closer or had more time to get them more often they are consistently the best cuts of beef I have had the honor of eating no food gives me the dopamine and serotonin that I get from the brisket at this place

I’m a little torn here. I enjoyed stopping in. The atmosphere was good, the service was great. It’s a nice little place, but the food was just a bit blah. It’s absolutely my fault for not asking. I assumed that the turkey on my salad would be something they smoked. It’s appears to have just been sliced deli turkey. But the salad was still fine. My son got the plater with meats and two sides. He said the same thing. Maybe average. The lady who waited on us was awesome. She was nice and provided good service.

Amazing place during the right times. The fries are probably the best I’ve had with very nice waiters. Have gone there plenty and had 1 really bad encounter in which they took an hour to get our food, half of it didn’t come ever, and the bit that did was all burnt so I imagine they lost the ticket and forgot the fries in the fryer.
