The fig burger is easily one of the tastiest burgers I’ve ever eaten, anywhere in the country. The flavor was complex, but so will balance. The char on the pattie was perfect. The only downside is the fries were just average. The burger was an absolute superstar.

It’s been a while since I had a dog, and I was leaving an appointment off Grand. As I drove by Steve’s I busted the next right, threw it in park, and decide to hoof it back a couple blocks. It was a nice day, why not?
I walked and was greeted by a waitress and the cashier. I sat up at the bar and grabbed a menu. I was impressed, they offer a lot more than just dogs, pizzas, burgers, specialty toppings for dogs (cream cheese and green peppers and you got yourself something you didn’t know you needed in your life – until you took a bite of it.
I ordered a chilli cheese dog (w/ fried onions), and a brawt. I was stuffed and was thinking about where I parked and I instantly regretted not parking closer. I was so full, that I was suffering like Buffrin.
Great food, plentyy of choices, fun friendly staff, on top of the Star Wars decore – I can see why this place is such a cult hit!
Specialty Dog, Brawt, Soda (basically my dinner) for less than $20 (that’s tough for me to anywhere – a footling subway is $15.00 and it’s Subway ?
Highly recommend checking Steve’s Hotdogs out

Steve’s Hot Dogs should be a St. Louis icon if it is not already. The food is very good! The hot dogs are delicious, and the fries are the best fries I have ever had, hands down. I really like how they support local soft drink suppliers, which also results in them having esoteric options for fountain, like black cherry! The atmosphere of the restaurant is very metal, with lots of local music and pop culture references, memorabilia and more. Street parking in the city is never fun, but it is right off of the #70 so it’s worth a park and ride or straight commute! I will definitely return and recommend this place for ages!

This restaurant is amazing! Their food is delicious and accommodating. I’m vegetarian and they have vegan chili and hot dogs. My friend has celiac and they have gluten free buns plus follow cross contamination protocols. They’re also great with kids and have a family deal on Fridays. I highly recommend!!!

Was excited to try because I had heard good things – went in around 9:30, nobody around but guy at the register was very friendly. I said I can’t do onions or garlic, so he suggested the Hawaiian dog which sounded awesome. Order was ready about 2 minutes later, but when I got home starving, it was definitely the wrong thing, and completely covered in onions. Fries were cold, bun was dry, so had to eat the hot dog plain. Place looked cool, but was disappointed enough to leave an honest review.

Unfortunately, I can’t give a fair review regarding the food because I never even got to try it. I had been looking forward to trying this place and only stopped in because my best friend was bragging about it while I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to eat for lunch. The menu was full of great options, the decor was awesome, for this experience to not have been the best I’m open to trying a different location considering maybe they were just having a bad day. My best friend placed her order and it was brought out(thrown on the table) very quickly. My order followed, I tasted a fry(barely warm) because they are supposed to be the ‘best in the city’ and anyone who sells a crinkle fry automatically has my business! I specified no mayo PLEASE on my order-twice, it came out slathered in extra mayo, but when I took it back up to the register to request a remake, they had a pretty long line, so I stepped off to the side where the same person who just brought our food was going in and out of the kitchen. He walked past me like he did not see me standing there holding the bag of food and saying excuse me and trying to get his attention, he then went to the bar area and behind the register and continued to ignore me. When I finally was able to catch him, I I said hey I think I may have the wrong order because my ticket says no mayo but this is covered in mayo. He says it’s mine they just made it wrong and he could get me a new one it’ll just take 2 minutes. I said that was fine, however would it be okay for me to get a fresh, hot fry since I would be waiting and the one I had would be just getting colder. He rolled his eyes and said whatever you want ma’am. I immediately did not feel comfortable with him remaking my food at that point and simply requested a refund. It doesn’t take much to ruin my appetite. Maybe next time….

My friend and I went yesterday, for our first visit. We felt at home, immediately! There are MANY choices! I asked a young man who was eating there, for any suggestions. He said the vegan dog is great but, everything is great there! I decided on the chili cheese dog. My friend, Annie, decided on the Figgy Stardust smash burger! She’s the one who wanted a hot dog! Hahaha The food was excellent! The gentleman we were speaking to bought us a side of the mac and cheese to try. It was good but, not GREAT! We were SO THANKFUL for his most kind gesture, to us gals. Touched our hearts, really. My hot dog was juicy as heck for a dog. Annie’s burger looked fabulous and, she reiterated that with her moans of satisfaction. Many napkins needed!! Next boat, I’m getting a burger and she’s getting a dog! Definitely going back. We drove a bit over an hour to get there. Well worth the trip. So many interesting restaurants around there, too! Will be back to try those, as well! We forgot any pictures. We were HUNGRY!

Dude these people served me a hotdog on a wet bun that was in 3 pieces when I opened the foil. I opened it and tried to stay calm but the whole thing exploded upon attempting to take a bite. These hot dog used to be stuffed reliably. How am I supposed to eat this? This in combination with the over priced and far worse hot dogs they’ve been pushing at the stadiums is driving me away from supporting this local business I used to love.

I would highly recommend Steve’s hot dogs. They had a clean interior, great service, and really great tasting hot dogs. My personal preference was for the more “basic dogs,” (as in, the St. Louis Dog, the Chicago dog, etc.), but the ones with the cheese curds/mac and cheese that we tried were also tasty. The only thing I wasn’t a huge fan of was the fries, but another person in our party of four ordered a brat and loved it, so I would say it was overall a great experience.

Tried out a Hot Dog place! I had the Stormtropper brat with Alfredo spiral pasta, cheese, bacon and fried onions and it was good. April had the Hawaii Five O with a hot dog, fresh pineapple, bacon, and a smokey BBQ sauce. Plus we shared Death Star fries with Buffalo sauce, chesse, bacon, and ranch. Jason and Kay shared the hot dog flight which came with 8 half dogs dressed in their 8 best seller toppings. Overall cool place, service was good. Kitchen was fast. Food was good. I’d go back to try more. I did eat mine with a fork and knife and left most of the bun after the first few bites.
