I have been a regular customer for many years . I came in at 1:25 am this morning and there was a small group already there and lots of food on the grill . I was told they weren’t taking any more orders after the food they were already cooking was finished because grill was burning everything . The waitress is also a regular and knows that what I regularly order is NOT made on the grill and therefore shouldn’t matter anyway but was still told I couldn’t order . I sat in the parking lot and watched 2 other people go in just after me and stay . I called a few hours later and the next shift said the grill was working fine and not aware of any earlier problems with it . Another time I was told they were not taking any more orders because it was too busy . They are now going to lose a regular and loyal customer of MANY years .

This place is a true throwback gem, a family-owned and operated greasy spoon joint with very reasonable prices that’s truly rare these days. And it’s open 24-7!! Very impressive business hours.
I had the steak and eggs, which seemed like cube steak. My only constructive criticism would be to add a bit of seasoning to the steak before cooking. My over easy eggs were perfectly-prepared with a delicious runny yolk. The rye toast had real butter, and the home fries were crispy and tasty.
I’ll most-definitely be back on a future trip.

Went in with friends for dinner. It was busy, and we overheard someone say it was the cooks first day. Our food was amazing! We all left satisfied after eating every bite of our delicious meals. Definitely coming back. You made a good call when you hired Joe!

Excellent service, friendly and kind people, great hot dogs, and a great selection of food! It’s open 24 hours so youll never miss it. The booths are comfortable and the barstools are fun and look vintage.

Great little place. Friendly staff and quick service! I only ever order breakfast here, but the food is good, and the prices can’t be beat.
Update: Had a late breakfast here again and was pleasantly surprised to learn that they are open 24 hours now that they are better staffed!

Used to go here all the time , used to love the food. One visit my daughter ordered chopped sirloin, it made her sick. We refrained from it for a while . They put the diner on DoorDash,so we’d figure we’d give it another try. I ordered the chopped sirloin,half way through eating it, I got profusely sick, vomiting and all. Upon inspection of the “steak ” I saw the whole middle was raw and had live worms . This incident has been reported. Please do not order any meat from this establishment. It’s tainted and very clearly not stored, handled or cooked properly. I have a photo but it won’t let me upload here and it’s quiet disgusting.

My wife just had her plate set infront of her. The waitress comes not even a minute after with the check saying “im gonna put this right here for when youre ready no rush” listen……. when u place the check infront of someone immediately after they get their food saying “no rush” thats telling the guest you want them out fast… heres some advice from someone whose life is the food industry… check comes when asked for after everythings been ordered and eaten…. impatience is a redflag when youre a wait staff. Common sense isnt common anymore. Disrespect is through the roof… you shouldve never left biddulph plaza and changed your menu again…

I love Steve’s and I absolutely loved SAL. Foods good, people are nice and friendly. I just wish more time was spent on house keeping, floors way to sticky like adhesive is down sometimes. Bathrooms your probably better just going into a truck stop lol. A random person stopping here will probably not be happy.
