The food was awful! The mashed potatoes and gravy were more like a soup. The brisket was burnt, the ribs had a weird taste and were cold. $125 dollars for the worst food ever.

This place should change its name to “holy cow” because of my God that was a religious experience! The absolute best BBQ in Whittier! Maybe even in all of Southern California! The tri tip sandwich is perfectly cooked, the bread they use is crusty but not tough, the BBQ beans have a great balance of sweet and salty, even the BBQ sauce tastes great! I have to talk about the macaroni and cheese on its own because wow! The macaroni and cheese reminds me of my favorite macaroni and cheese in the world which was the Mac and cheese that was served to me while working on Thanksgiving at Disneyland. It’s baked and cheesy and so flavorful without being salty! I cannot wait to come back and try more things!

Wow…very surprised and left with a happy belly afterwards . We ordered the Sampler Platter with Texas Bread, loaded Mash Potatoes, Mac & Cheese, and Baked Beans. Check out the pic! Make sure to call and make a reservation ahead if time .

This place was listed on one of mist fry BBQ place. Pretty nice and cozy place. We had the beef brisket, 1/2 baby back ribs, loaded potatoes, pork belly tacos. The brisket was very tasty and tender while the baby back was a bit tough. The pork belly taco was very tasty. Too much jalapeños but it was good. We also had fried ice cream and the bourbon bread pudding and that was excellent! The services could use some improvements. Food and desserts were served but there was no silverware. Took more than 5 min. To get the utensils plus we weren’t finish eating yet and they are ready to take our plate away without asking if we were done.

We came here 2 days back to back and was definitely not disappointed the first day we just wanted to try the place out and ordered the pork belly sliders and a brisket Mac n cheese. Both were amazing but… the next morning we came to get brunch and ordered the chili verde breakfast burrito along with the tri tip breakfast bowl and I must say that had to be the best breakfast burrito I have ever had! Plus the sauce with the salsa they give you for that bowl was delicious!!! I’m just upset that the brunch is not year around

I went an hour after opening and it wasn’t crowded, which was good. Found parking directly from the restaurant and was promptly seated for my party of 2. The server quickly took our beverage order and delivered it quickly. Since this was our 1st visit , we got the Sampler Platter, which was worth every penny. I appreciate the staff, they were accommodating and attentive to our needs. Will highly recommend this place and we will be back

Steve’s BBQ in Uptown Whittier is the real deal. The ribs were insanely tender and full of flavor, easily some of the best I’ve had in SoCal. You can taste the 24+ years of experience in every bite.
Service was friendly, portions were huge, and the whole place just has that welcoming, local spot vibe. Whether you dine in, take out, or get delivery, you won’t be disappointed. Definitely a must-try if you’re anywhere near Whittier.

My family and I went to have a fun day out and decided to try a new place to eat. After reading the menu at Steve’s BBQ we all voted to give it a try, and I was so happy that we did! The atmosphere was nice and the place was very clean. It was nice to be able to navigate with ease, and not having to do great heroic feats to get to our table.♿
The staff is super friendly and have a great insight into the menu. We got the sampler platter for our family of 4 ( have 3 people with rather mega appetites). I have to say we were not disappointed! The sides of Yams fries, greens and mac & cheese were super delicious. The pulled pork nacho is gigantic and a super deal for the amount of food on the plate. Heck, all the portions are very hearty indeed. Bread pudding is a must! If you like leaded drinks ( adult beverages) they have some super tasty ones, since all the simple syrups and other ingredients are made fresh in house. We will definitely be back, and bring more friends along for a fabulous feast.

I found Steve’s BBQ in Uptown Whittier through HeyLA, and it totally lived up to the expectations. The ribs were unbelievably tender and packed with flavor, exactly what I was hoping for. The place has been around for 24+ years, and you can tell they know what they’re doing.

I’m obsessed with Steve’s BBQ after my first visit! My boyfriend and I celebrated his birthday here, and it exceeded our high expectations. We ordered:
– Baby back and beef ribs
– Pork belly nachos
– Smoked BBQ brisket
The standout dish was the smoked BBQ brisket – incredibly juicy and buttery! The pork belly nachos were a close second.
The price, reservation process, and drive were well worth it. I’m already planning to return for my own birthday! The staff and kitchen clearly prioritize quality and hospitality. 🙂
