Visited from Texas for a mini get away and fell in love with this spot! I got a Java the Hut latte and it took me by surprise. The cutie with the half white half black hair, mentioned that the owner’s favorite flavor was the one I ordered and I can see why! It was sooooo delicious I had to go back the next day for another one. I ordered one of the egg stacks which was awesome that they have keto/paleo options. It’s hard to come across places that offer a breakfast item that’s friendly to my dietary restrictions. I couldn’t help myself and also tried the BLT with brie and grapes, the next day and wow! I was happy to had use my cheat meal for that sandwich. They even spelled my name correctly which is uncommon. Very sweet owners and pleasant staff! Loved the trinket basket; leave one take one! Never seen that anywhere else either. Can’t forget to mention that it’s been over a month since I visited this place and the beautiful little spotted plant I bought has now grown 3 new leaves. It’s a spotted Begonia and pothos in one!

I ate here once 7 years ago and have never stopped thinking about this place ever since. The breakfast sandwich was so good i swore it HAD to be a fluke because it was MIND BLOWING for me. I finally got the chance to come back 7 years later and the sandwich only improved with time (how improving from perfection is possible, I have no idea, but they did it). The coffee is fantastic and the atmosphere is comfortable and friendly. The owner is hands on here in the shop, consistently ensuring the highest quality he can provide.
I would move to Lake Charles for the sheer fact that this coffee shop exists. Out of every little secret breakfast/lunch nook I’ve enjoyed in the US, this is by far the best spot in quality, price, and just straight up talent in knowing how to create and blend the best flavors. Whenever I think I have a new favorite, I always compare it with Stellar Beans (don’t worry, y’all have never been dethroned as #1 for me). I love this place and will bring all of my guests here every time I pass through.

I love this place! It’s only open from 7am to 2pm. There is a local artist named Ernest Courville “Coach” and his pal Mitch Pickering (musician) who regulars every morning until 9am. The food is awesome! The breakfast sandwich and French Beignets (4 piece) Chia Tea and Carmel Macchiato. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is very quite and relaxing. Great vibes!

Was really looking forward to supporting this small business while in town. They start closing down well before their posted hours to include all seating options. 10 minutes prior to closing they only had 2 coffee options available, nothing else. For a 16oz iced coffee at $7 you’d think it would be at least a decent coffee. The suggested tip amount was $5. Would not recommend or come back anytime soon.

Vibes: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – very much a local, artsy hangout. There are welcoming regulars of all shapes & sizes. Plenty of art displayed & for sale including paintings, cups, etc. Large menu with Star Wars themed drinks, as well as really delicious sandwiches. Open on Sundays which is not a norm for a locally owned shop. I always visit on my way to brunch. There was also local jazz music being played today.
Drinks: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – strong coffee flavor & the syrups don’t taste artificial at all. Lots of options. I love the snickerdoodle with cold foam
Accessibility: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ – parking is a wheelchair users nightmare all of downtown lake Charles needs a little cement refresh. A few spots directly up front, parallel parking. There is also a one way alley close by with zero handicapped spots. There is also an extremely deep crevice in the alley that NEEDS to be fixed (not stellar beans fault). The front doors are double but one stays locked so it’s a tight squeeze. Once inside, it’s very roomy with low top tables & couches. Where the coffee is served is (estimated) 5ft from the ground so that is not accessible for a wheelchair user. Restroom is single with correctly placed grab bars.

Been here several times… even made special trips all of the way from Houston to come, but we ordered online at 12:52 while we were driving there yesterday and even called and left a message saying that we’ll be there about 20 minutes before close…
They had canceled our order and told us that we couldn’t get food.
We’ll miss the food, but definitely not the service!

The coffee and the place itself were good, but the experience was completely ruined by the manager’s behavior.
On a cold day, I purchased a coffee and a sandwich for a homeless man and his dog. Instead of showing basic human respect, the manager came out with a judgmental and disrespectful attitude. She immediately assumed the man had asked us for the coffee, which was not true. He was calm, respectful, did not smell bad, and showed no signs of alcohol or drug use.
The shop advertises itself as pet-friendly, yet she sent his dog outside. I noticed a sign stating that large dogs are not allowed; this dog was medium-sized. While the dog did not have a leash, her response was unnecessarily harsh and handled with very poor attitude instead of basic courtesy.
What made it worse was seeing her later apologizing to another client about the situation instead of addressing it properly and respectfully in the moment.
She mentioned the coffee shop has a “program” to help people in these situations, but I chose to help directly by paying for his coffee and sandwich. That should never be a problem.
I hope she never has a family member or friend in a similar situation. Kindness and empathy are free, and unfortunately, they were missing that day

This place is as described. Great customer service, amazing does not begin to describe the food here. The combination of different tastes will keep your mind guessing and your mouth exploding.

Spent the night in Lake Charles and was looking for a good coffee spot next morning. Mission accomplished. I absolutely loved this place, combining my favorite genre of space themed movies and TV shows (Trekkie and Star Wars fan), and good coffee, food and atmosphere. My cold brew was outstanding, smooth with notes of chocolate. I had Bacon, Eggs, Sausage and cheese minus the bread. It was awesome and filling. My GF had the Interstellar Cristo and she raved about how good it was. The staff were two young ladies and they were friendly and amazing. There was an awesome atmosphere with plenty of space to sit and enjoy your beverage and food orders. Come out and support local businesses and avoid chains. I highly recommend this place!

The coffee was incredible and the sandwich’s were just as good. Honestly it’s sad people support Starbucks when you have this locally owned place right down the road. The coffee shop itself is a vibe within itself. Highly recommend to anyone coming through town.
