Enough room for about 50 people Max. Good beer on tap selection. Their menu is one side food, and the ENTIRE other side with their homemade moonshine or tequila selections they have the permits for. I believe this is one of the first few moonshine bars allowed in PA. I enjoyed the Cherry Lime shine shot in a Broken Heels IPA. I got the Brie Platter app as a solo eater for $13 and was super fulfilled for a single meal. When you’re tryna catch a beer and brunch this is it. Parking is across the street off of Elm street by the fire dept.

While driving to Pittsburgh from Grove city, we checked out some small towns along the way. We came across Steel Mill Moonshine in the adorable town of Slippery Rock.
It was Completely unexpected to find a place like this in what I thought was a little hamlet, but turned out to be much more.
Steel Mill was our only stop in town – and it was well worth it.
First, the building is historic and beautiful – an old converted post office right in the heart of town.
Steel mill is the purveyor and craftspeople of fine Moonshines and moonshine based cocktails.
The owner was very nice and happy to be of service to early daydrinkers.

She allowed us to taste test almost all of her flavours – we were somewhat selective.
The flavour profiles are all on point. We learned about how they craft each moonshine flavour – using as many local and in season ingredients as possible. Each one was better than the last – bursting with rich flavours.

Normally, when I try moonshine – I taste the alcohol first – which puts me off – but this was flavour first – making it the smoothest -moonshine I have ever had. Its an easy drinking shine.

We also enjoyed a couple of their fine cocktails.
We did not have any food – as it was still fairly early. So we cannot comment on the food.
The atmosphere was very cool, with amazing décor.

We loved our conversations with the owners, learning about the town, the university, the history, and their business.

Lots of on street parking, and a small parking lot.

This is a lovely spot to make a destination trip to.

Food was absolutely horrible, could have got a better flatbread across the road at sheetz. Wings were very bland. Bacon and chips were burnt to an absolute crisp. No water filter, water tasted absolutely horrible. People in the restaurant were screaming very loud.

THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE! The drinks are fantastic! We tried mules, signature shine drinks, and their version of a “shine margarita”! We ate the smoked wings and pulled pork nachos! We def will be back. The service was top notch!

The food was fantastic. The service was fantastic. The atmosphere was fantastic. Overall, I can’t recommend this place enough. The best eatery in its class and FAR BETTER than every other restaurant serving beer and mixed drinks in town (if you know you know). Loved this place. Highly recommend.

Outstanding!! When visiting your student at Slippery Rock University, it is a nice place to grab a bit to eat and moonshine cocktail.

Pulled pork nachos. Dripping with queso, pulled pork, tomatoes, corn, and BBQ sauce. Cheesy goodness in each bite.

Sweet Onion flatbread. Spicy Jam, delicious carmilized onion, blue cheese crumbs, and bacon. Melts in your mouth.

Turkey Elderado. Smoke cheese, turkey, caramelized onions all on a hoagie bun. Flavors that burst.

Punch list drink. Cherry and lime moonshine and lemonade. this goes down smooth.

Sangria shine. Pach and watermelon moonshine, Moscato, sprite, and assorted fruits.

Try as well the ginger sour mule very refreshing and the long island ice tea.

McKenna was our server. Friendly, fast, and efficient.

Absolutely a must, while in Slippery Rock.

The hands down best bacon and blue burger I’ve ever had. Instead of blue cheese dressing glopped on top it was cooked in with the burger.
Beer selection was good but not up with the best.
The moonshine was outstanding.
The staff was helpful, friendly, and attentive.
It was our first time there but it will not be the last.
