Just run… it’s not worth stopping by or having a sit… Customer service was horrible… Prices was to high for the bad service… you gotta get your own everything!! It looks nasty Tables wasn’t getting clean, I seen a couple drool and spit on the table and it was never cleaned afterwards… it’s just not worth it! I came home to throw up my food !! I will never go back! They should just sale the restaurant… because it was horrible.. The Older lady was talking to the younger girl like a Dog on the streets… the older lady was so overwhelmed… it was a mess

This restaurant has nice decor, and is clean. The ladies at the front counter were very friendly, and the food was good, especially the liver mush. This will not be my last time dining there. I’ll be back.

I’ve always stopped here it’s only been about 4 months but it’s well worth it. I always order the breakfast platter the grits are amazing you don’t have to add anything extra but I’m a country girl so I always add my sugar lol. Overall the food is good. French toast are good as well. I haven’t had lunch or dinner but I’m sure it’ll be good too..thank you guys!!

Steel Creek Cafe. A Disappointing Experience with Unequal Service

This morning, I went to Steel Creek Cafe for breakfast with my partner, mi Poeta. The food itself wasn’t bad, the portions were decent, and the prices were reasonable. However, the experience was overshadowed by something far more troubling: the blatant disparity in service based on the perceived ethnicity of the customers.

When we entered, we placed our order at the counter, sat down, and waited. At first, I was unsure whether they would call our number or bring the food to our table. A few minutes later, I heard them call “Number 44” over the microphone, and a Hispanic woman got up to retrieve her order. When our number was called, we also went up to get our food.

What caught my attention was how customers of different ethnic backgrounds were treated. For instance, a Caucasian couple seated next to us had their food personally delivered to their table by the cashier, even though their number was never called. Shortly after, another group of three Caucasian came in, ordered, and received the same preferential treatment, food brought to their table along with personalized service, such as fetching ketchup upon request.

Meanwhile, all Hispanic customers, including us, had to listen for our numbers, get up, and pick up our own food. The contrast was too obvious to ignore.

I don’t usually focus on such things, but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. It felt disrespectful and discriminatory. It’s disappointing to witness service that clearly prioritizes one group over another, especially in a diverse community. Every customer walks in with the same color of money (green) and should be treated with equal respect and care.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this establishment to others. Steel Creek Cafe needs to reflect on its practices and ensure that all customers, regardless of background, receive fair treatment. Until then, I won’t be returning. My rating: 0/10.

This place is okay. I have driven by this place for years and finally stopped in for the first time today. For the good, it’s extremely clean and quite cute inside. And the country fried steak over rice (which is what I got) was actually pretty good. As for the cornbread, I have never seen cornbread that orange before, but it tasted okay. The service was neither great nor was it awful. It was just okay. The person at the counter who seemed like either the owner or manager didn’t seem all that happy to see me. I went in around 4:30 p.m. and was literally the only customer there so maybe that’s why, I dunno. Toward the end of my meal, I heard another customer who I think was getting something to go be called by name, so it’ s probably a place used to a lot of regulars. It would be good for restaurants to remember that every regular customer was once a first time customer.

Stopped in here on the way to doing errands for some home-style cooked breakfast. I was extremely pleased. it’s not haute cuisine, but it’s also far from the chain restaurants and fast food eateries around town.

I ordered a Western omelet with hash browns and dry toast and that’s what was on my tray when my number was called. Good size, with plenty of cheese and fillings. A big pile of delish food where you can actually sit down for a bit, read the paper and chill.

Okay this place is fantastic every time I go there. They play good music and the ladies that work at the front are fantastically nice literally the only complaint I have is every time I want to get smoked sausage for a sausage egg and cheese sandwich they don’t have any. Nobody can seem to tell me why they don’t have the smoked sausage links but they are so good when they are there.

This restaurant has been here a long long time. The food choices are limitless. The quality of the food is made like your at grandma’s house. You won’t leave hungry or broke… Try the beef tips over rice with cornbread… I promise you won’t be disappointed…….

I saw this place on Google and thought I would give it a try. Maybe it was what I got, im not sure. The tenders were verg salty, my drink not getting me through that saltiness. The fries were ok. Mash potatoes were cold. Cornbread had a weird aftertaste and even the ketchup and other sauces tasted odd. The guy up front seems to always be distracted. Quantity is there but quality isnt. Overall I wouldn’t come here again.
