I heard about this place through a Chincoteague foodie group on social media. I was looking to cater a seafood boil to our vacation rental and someone recommended I pick up food from Steam Bros instead. I looked at their menu, which looked great, and prices were very reasonable. I called and placed an order for a few days out, in the middle of the pony swim week. They were very helpful with my order, with my main concern being how much food I needed for a party of 4. We ended up ordering the Pony Pot and adding 1 lb of snow crab and 1 dozen blue crabs ($205 after tax). The day of we decided to pick up an hour and a half earlier so we could do something else afterwards, so I called and they accommodated easily. Pickup went smoothly and I didn’t wait long, maybe 2-3 minutes for the order.
We brought it home and dumped it all onto the table like a traditional seafood boil. The seafood itself was absolutely incredible. My husband, who grew up in an area with very fresh seafood and is insanely picky because of this, said it was some of the best if not the best crab he’s ever had in his life. It was fresh and perfectly seasoned. It stayed very hot until it was served. It was more than enough for leftovers for two more meals, so it was a great value for the price as well. This was the culinary highlight of my trip to Chincoteague, both in the experience and the quality of the food. Thank you, Steam Bros, you did not disappoint!

Today we ordered from the food truck – Steam bros. It’s across from the dollar general. We ordered the pony pot and it was just enough for 2 adults and 4 kids. I love Cajun seasoning. They do add a generous portion of seasoning for those not so fond of Cajun seasoning. Underneath the shrimp were the crab legs, sausage and potatoes. Everyone definitely enjoyed it. I recommend calling ahead.

I got the soft shell crab sandwich today and oh boy – what a great sandwich. 2 really nice sized crabs, perfectly crispy legs, very lightly battered, with just the right amount of seasoning. The bun was perfect and soft. I got it with lettuce/raw onion/jalapenos/tarter sauce but you can have it however you want. The fries are crispy and delicious, too. I may have to go back tonight for another one.

My Mom invited me and some family over for a 1/2 bushel that she got from you guys and OMGGGG. I’m from here and I’ve not enjoyed blue crabs like that in literally 20+ years. I cannot ever remember a time we brought over crabs and they were cooked perfectly and sooooo good. And we get a bushel 4-5 times a season. Thank YOU for these absolutely amazing crabs and know that I will never purchase crabs anywhere else! Update: We ordered a bushel last night and they were nothing like the half bushel we got last week and raved about above, way too much seasoning clumped all over the crabs, much much smaller and only a few larger crab in the bushel, overcooked, and there were some that had a foul smell a tasted spoiled. Disappointed for sure.
