The outside appeared pretty rustic, and the inside equally casual, but the food was top notch! I had a delicious cheesy potato soup and my husband an elegant and delicious hamburger and a side salad with blueberries and fresh strawberries. On top of that, the draft beer was a superb porter from a brewery in Bishop. And the service was also excellent.

This chef here is a genius (though he seems uninterested in praise) and his food is amazing. I went in not knowing what to expect, and ended up having the most amazing dining experience I have had in a decade, easily. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the side dishes were gourmet excellence all the way.

I left wishing I knew more about the story of the place and the people/person running it, solid in my impression that if Bourdain was still with us this would be a highlight regular hangout for him.

The dining area is small… about a half-dozen tables. It is nearly impossible to get in without a reservation on most nights (it’s a hidden diamond, and the locals know it). But worth every second of wait time, every bite, and every cent.

I only wish I lived closer, so I could eat here again, and again, and again.

If you are in the area, you must eat here. But call ahead for reservations. It’s completely worth it.

The cream of the crop, the hidden gem, the gold standard, whatever you want to call it- this place is the best. The chef blows your mind every time. Don’t be worried about what to get the options are simple and you cannot go wrong. I had a ribeye and the date dessert 10/10. Thank you for letting us enjoy such incredible food in the middle of nowhere. This place is a blessing to the universe. The last photo is old but I’ve been coming here 10+ years and have never had a bad meal.

I’ve eaten here around ten or so times over the last few years. It’s a small, quaint little spot. Definitely make a reservation, you probably won’t get in otherwise. It’s one guy who takes your order, cooks the food, processes the payment, etc. Every single thing from a to z. I’ve seen a few complaints about the “customer service” and it’s ridiculous. It’s a one man show, he doesn’t have time to have a bubbly conversation with every single person that walks in the door, half the time he’s in the kitchen when people walk in and it’s pretty hard to hear anything over the ventilation system I would guess. He can’t exactly pause to walk out front and deal with a bunch of questions in the middle of cooking food for 20 some people. Don’t be deterred by those complaints. He’s a perfectly polite guy.
The menu is small and concise which I would expect in a restaurant with only six tables. The chef knows his strengths and makes sure to not spread himself too thin.
There are no descriptors on the menu, so if you’re a picky eater ask questions ahead of time. However, I would suggest eating everything exactly how he prepares it. It tastes well thought out and everything compliments each other.
This is absolutely the best steak I have ever had and every year when I return, it’s as good as I remember.
If you’re wanting a five star Michelin dining experience where continually pampered and coddled, don’t come to a tiny restaurant in tecopa.
If you want a unique dining experience in a quirky little town with some of the best food you’ve ever had, this is the place for you.

Wonderful little out of the way eatery that provides a limited menu as stated in the name of establishment. My wife ordered the Orchard salad with steak and she was very pleased with this item. I ordered the 16 oz Ribeye that was cooked to perfection. My only complaint is that the steak was drizzled with a sauce, similar to A1 that impacted the taste of steak. No previous warning was given regarding standard application of sauce and when questioned, the reply given was it helps with the breakdown of acids and assist in digestion. Honestly, I have consumed many a steak, especially ribeyes and I never needed the assistance. In my opinion, condiments should be applied by the consumer, so heads up to anyone who agrees.

Got the 5 course pre fix menu. The fruit and cheese plate was crazy. Wasn’t sure I ever enjoyed sweet fruit with the texture and flavors of cheese like that before in my life. So good. Then the orchard salad. The greens and the berries and apple were great mix of flavors and textures, but that is the second best vinaigrette that I have had in my life. I am 51. It was delicious. Then came the cream of potato soup. While maybe a little underwhelming visually, the experience when it hit my mouth was like a chemical reaction. I don’t even like soup. But I LOVED this soup. After I calmed down a bit, out came the 16 oz ribeye that I shared with my beautiful girlfriend. This thing was prepared perfectly and coated in a balsamic glaze which I hadn’t had before but PERFECTLY complimented it. Didn’t overwhelm it or distract from the beef at all. The mashed potatoes and root style veggies were outstanding, both in texture and flavors. Was pretty full at this point and we actually saved half of the main entree for breakfast the next day, was a great portion for something so good. Last course was a blueberry cheesecake that was liking eating blueberry butter. Heavenly. I dont even like cheesecake typically, but again I LOVED this. Best meal in a few years. Total adventure for my mouth. Thank you.

Very nice small business, to go and give some love and recieve back. I ordered the 6oz steak. Came out on time and as ordered. One of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time. Mash potatos and vegatables was great. Very artistic atmosphere. I will make it a regular stop when I visit Nevada!

Went to the hot spring to skinny dip. someone told me there was a good steak in town so had to try it out. I wasn’t expecting a lot by the looks of the place. I had no idea I would get that good of a steak in tecopa! it was amazing! As was the potatoes. I end up having a nice couple join me, they were super nice and we had good convos with them. They came from LA to enjoy the quaint little town and hot water.A+++++

If you are visiting in the Tecopa/Shoshone area, this is a great steakhouse. It’s highly recommended you make reservations it is a very small venue with limited seating. I have missed the opportunity to dine here just trying to walk in… Calling ahead is best. It is within walking distance of some of the hot springs resorts. If you’re passing through on the way to Death Valley, it’s off the main highway but well worth making the effort to discover. Expect small-town service. Tecopa is laid back and friendly. The food is excellent.

Nice place and one of the only places around for a long ways to stop for a bite to eat.

I highly recommend a reservation. There are only 5 tables inside, and the bar. There were tables outside but only indoor seating available for dinner.

My friend and I each ordered a burger, mashed potatoes, a salad, one beer and two waters.

I ordered my burger well done and my friend ordered medium well. Both burgers arrived well done.

He was not very happy with his dry burger and when brought to their attention- no compensation was offered. I think for $22 a burger, they could have offered to remake it or comp his beer at least.

For me, the food was decent. The salad was delicious. I appreciated the seasoning- but way too salty for me.

I believe the bill was $70 plus.

There’s an RV/ hotel hot springs next door that I will definitely be visiting if I ever return to the area.
