Steaking is definitely known for their steak skillets with pasta, sauces, and veggies. I ordered the ribeye, which was HUGE! Pretty good quality in terms of marbling and fattiness. The mushroom sauce was an interesting addition, not so much umami – but definitely sweet with tomato vibes. The baby corn and broccoli was fine, but the pasta was reminding me of Jollibee at one point… but overall an amusing and unique approach to a ribeye steak! Casual and fun!
We also tried out their hot pot options, and we went for the Taiwanese Spicy Soup. The broth was very flavorful and the portions were okay. Lamb was thinly sliced and fatty. Lots of veggies and tofu varieties. Overall… this was decent, but not a must try!
Last year I was disappointed to see my favorite Taiwanese bento spot Ain’t Common close/change ownership. It’s because they opened this place! There was an NYE deal of buy one get one 50% hot pot and we also needed to try one of the steak dishes. I recommend following the Steaking instagram to look out for other deals. With the deal, it was an awesome amount of food for the price. Lots of food in the hot pots, and we upgraded one of the rice bowls to add the pork (yum). Self serve water, tea (black tea sweet and oolong tea), corn soup, and sauce station for the hot pots. Steak came with the garlic bread and salad, and we added on a soup with puff pastry (not shown). The soup in the puff pastry was basically the same soup as the self serve soup. I really enjoyed the black pepper sauce on the steak and noodles. The steak was a bit tough to cut and was a bit fatty, but overall good for the price.
We already came back and tried the popcorn chicken bento to go. It hit the spot!
The only good things were the complimentary teas. The unsweetened oolong was strong. The sweeten black tea was refreshing.
Service was good on a Wednesday night.
The environment was also perfect. The Taiwanese accents all around me made me feel like I was really in Taiwan for the meal. I loved the vibe. The servers were absolutely sweet and nice. They made sure I was taken care of, even when the place was a full house and a lot of people were waiting outside.
I think this place is great for a friends gathering, family dinner, or business lunch. I also feel the price is a good deal because I was super full after I finished my order. I wish I had a bigger stomach so I could try more other things. I will definitely come back.
$24 , come with one bread , corn soup
They also have mini hot pot and some deep fried items .
Very suitable for small parties to come enjoy.
