Probably the best steak in Haarlem. Loved the Argentinian ribeye that was grilled perfectly. Paired with a great Rioja. Service is very knowledgeable and attentive. I even got a nice present from the owner, a sif for the old Rioja corks. Thank you for a lovely evening!

We visited with a party of eight, including a large dog, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. Service was prompt, attentive, and genuinely friendly. The food arrived quickly, and watching the preparation in the open kitchen was a great touch.
The steak selection is impressive, and every cut was cooked perfectly. We were treated like family throughout the evening—even our dog received special attention.
To top it all off, on New Year’s Eve the owner personally organized a taxi for all eight of us, including the dog. That level of care is rare and deserves a 5*+ rating.

The presentation was BEAUTIFUL, the guys at the bar, the young men who served us, and the entire kitchen staff were LOVELY… They made us feel super special and with great attention to detail because it was my wife’s birthday. I am very happy to have shared such a special date with my wife, the food was DELIGHTFUL and without forgetting the dessert… We look forward to visiting them again on our wedding anniversary. This is our most favorite restaurant in the Netherlands!
After coming to NL with my husband 5 years ago, we have frequently (no less than once per month) visited this gem in Haarlem. For every special occasion, family visit or simply a romantic day out – we will choose the Golden Bull. So far, none of our family or friends were disappointed.
The food is prepared with love and they definitely know what they are doing here. Both starters and mains are always a joy, and it’s also really nice to finish your dinner with their signature cocktails or a nice whiskey (they have a really big selection!)
The staff, including the owner, is always friendly, attentive, and pleasantly chatty. From day one, they were able to make a sincere connection with us as clients, which contributes greatly to the overall cozy atmosphere during our visits. As well, the staff is very knowledgeable and were able to recommend us many steaks, and we soon found our favorites – New Zealand Hereford, entrecote and rib eye.
For us, being food (especially red meat) lovers, so far we have not found anywhere else in the world that would compare to the meat quality here!

We had dinner here two weeks ago. Despite the good reviews here and on Trip Advisor (this is how we found the restaurant!) it was a very very dissatisfying experience for our family. The atmosphere was awful, it was cold and there was bad music that was too loud. The service was very mediocre and so was the food. On top of that we paid a fortune for a dissatisfying dinner. This is definitely not a restaurant you should visit in Haarlem. We rarely write reviews but this was too disappointing so we wanted to let you know.

Loved it! A bit on the expensive side but definitely worth the money.
We were greeted by someone that clearly knew what he was doing, once seated the menu’s were handed out and we were given some time to chat and decide what we wanted to drink.
The food was absolutely great; I had the Gravad Lax and Lamb Chops which were both deliciously prepared. The other members of the group were also happy campers. Dessert was the local Haarlem ice cream for most and cheese cake for me, all very tasty.
The staff was absolutely great and “simply” remembered (correctly) what we had ordered, I didn’t realise at the time but it was an absolute pleasure not having to endure someone fumbling around on some electronic device trying to relay your order to the kitchen.
All in all, definitely recommend going here if you enjoy a bit of meaty, you will not be disappointed!

Nice and cozy place! The empanadas were insane! The steak tartare was okay, the steak pretty good, the sides were nice. From the deserts, the cheesecake was basic but the creme brulee was tasteful, overal solid 4/5 stars!
