Steak Teppei began in Japan during the 1970’s at a time when steak was considered food for the rich. Hoping to give the opportunity of enjoying steak to young people at reasonable prices, the original founder opened his own restaurant Steak Teppei. Our current chef was one of the valued customers of the original Steak Teppei. One of his most treasured memories was that of dining at the original Steak Teppei on weekends with his family. After working as a chef and learning culinary skill, he was hired by the original owner to join Steak Teppei. Usually when I see “steak” medallions or bites like this, they are overcooked and underflavored. But, I gave it a shot. Amazing. Tasted like a steak out if a 5 star restaurant. Perfectly garlic, tender and juicy. Perfection in every bite. The sides are top notch, and the sauces and seasoning…I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to copy those for brisket back home. Higher than expected price tag, but absolutely worth every penny. Only negative I’ll give is they wouldn’t sell me a t-shirt. Will recommend

Putting it simply, steak was a perfect medium rare and seasoned just right. The shrimp was a little disappointing, but at least it was shelled, definitely not Giovanni’s so don’t expect shrimp truck style shrimp. That garlic sauce though, I think it was called garlic punch? If you love garlic you’ll be in love with this sauce. It was creamy, garlicky and delicious. I actually took the remainder home to find something to eat it with.

The garlic steak is delicious. Not overly cooked. The shrimp was good too but not the star of the show. It is a bit expensive $24 but thats usually quality steak prices. I would say its worth the price. The rice and mac salad was fresh and good too. I did not have any negatives of the food or staff. Came back again.

I really enjoyed the soft and juicy steak at Teppei! Their sauces and salt are a great match with the meat and vegetables! I couldn’t stop eating because it’s soooo good! And I also liked how their staff are nice and are proud of their menu!

Hands down the most delicious curry I’ve ever had I got the chicken katsu with mashed potatoes, white rice, and a side order of curry, which I drenched my chicken katsu into… I was in heaven eating this. Their garlic sauce is AMAZING and I paired it with EVERY PIECE of the meal. My hubby also LOVED his locomo and thought it was way better than Rainbow Drive-in, which I thought was a pretty bold claim, but he insisted. I wish they had a location on mainland. I will miss this place, truly .

Obligatory food court visit after checking in at the families timeshare. Love thr selection at here but I’ll never understand why the chick fil a line is always so long when there’s sp many options haha. Wanted a plate style meal so decided to give it a go. You can see the team cooking on their little flat top and it looked like they don’t cook the heck out their items so that was a plus. I ordered the steak and shrimp meal aka the #1. The shrimp were actually not overcooked amazing and the sauce was really good. Same thing for the steak nice and tender. I got the sweet sukiyaki sauce and Mac Salad. Everything was really flavorful pro tip after you sauce up your meats use your rice to absorb all the sauce on the bottom. Great first meal on this Hawaii trip!

Got the #2 garlic steak bites mini bowl for about $16. A little pricey but let me tell you.. It was so good! The steak was cooked really nicely! A good medium that was very tender and melts in your mouth. I chose the garlic sauce and man, when I tell you it was so delicious! I was scooping my steak in it with each bite. There was a cabbage salad and the dressing (I think was a miso dressing) was also very delicious. I wish I took a picture of the food but I really wasn’t expecting much. Its one of the first times I wish I lived on Oahu other than Maui so that I could eat this more often! I would definitely recommend.

By Far..the best shrimp, (with the dipping sauce) plate that I’ve EVER eaten!! Actually it’s the best plate PERIOD that I’ve ever had. Been around 56 years, I know a thing or two about “plate lunches”!
