Inspiration For The Modern Age
We have been to many Steak n Shake restaurants in Missouri and Arkansas, and this is the absolute best one. We have our favorite waitress who always greets us at the door and takes us to the table that we love sitting at and she’s always the friendliest, most attentive waitress we’ve ever had.
But even if it’s not our favorite waitress the service is always excellent and the food is always some of the best burgers we’ve ever eaten.
Oh and let’s not forget the shakes. The only problem with the shakes is there so many good ones to choose from. The only difficulty with going to Steak and Shake on Battlefield is choosing which shake to get.

Just threw out half my order and regret not tossing the whole thing. Haven’t been here in years but we just moved nearby, hard pass. Two chocolate shakes, one tasted like cherry cough syrup and one like it was trying to pass for chocolate. Totally different. How is that? They just have made one half strawberry or something it was so gross but the one that was just attempting to be chocolate and not fake fruit was also bad. Much better off at braums. The buns here were wet and squishy like they got rained on and tasted like they were sad about it. The pickles were drippy, not pickle juice but water. Did they bathe the sandwich? Was it dirty? It was so soggy but the meat patties also managed to be dry and greasy both. It was bizarre. The fries and burgers tasted like they’d never been in the same building as a salt shaker. Under ripe tomatoes. Rubbery cheese. The whole thing was such a hot tasteless mess and I was so disgusted by the wet buns and weird bad shakes I didn’t want any of it. Yuck.

I just left Steak n Shake and I hope this gets to the owner. I am leaving this review primarily due to the nice young man working the drive through whom was very professional n great attitude. Sorry I didn’t get his name but this review is about 15 minutes after I left. Keep up the great work n thank you once again. Ohh and the food is really good too

Great food. Excellent staff, servers, manager’s and cooks. If all S&Ss were run this well they wouldn’t have to be closing some. This particular restaurant has been on Battlefield Rd. for a long time and never fails to deliver.

My family and I decided we were going to stop for dinner after we enjoyed some Christmas lights. We have always loved this location usually during the lunch hours the service is great but today my family arrived at 9:00pm we didn’t leave until 10:30pm. After the waiter Damirko took our order he read it back to us and everything seemed correct. We ordered 6 meals 4 burgers and 2 chicken strips to drink we got 2 shakes for the kiddos. It took forty five minutes before Damirko arrived to our table with our drinks. I figured they were having a hard night so we continued visiting and enjoying our drinks. When Damirko finally arrived with our food fifteen minutes later after reading the order back to us he had 2 burgers wrong and had to take them back to the kitchen to get them fixed which took another fifteen minutes and never brought the shakes. To wrap things up our shakes did not arrive until the last five minutes we were there while we were eating our waiter disappeared into the back and we didn’t see him until we finished our meal. No shakes… Finally when we said something to the female waiter she delivered the message to Damirko and he literally grabbed the shakes from the table where they were sitting the whole hour and thirty minuted we waited and instead of offering to remake them he charges us $55 after telling us $45! The restaurant was a mess the floors were unswept especially at the table we were seated at and the fries were cold! The sweet tea was not sweet and everyone there was more focused on being social with fellow coworkers and all of their smoke breaks they were going to take in that hour and thirty minutes my family sat. We are very dissatisfied and disappointed I expected so much more from my favorite place to eat my lunch.

Not my favorite location, as the service always seems to be greatly lacking. My husband’s sandwich was wrong, food was cold. Milkshake was good, tho had to wait awhile for it.

If I could give more stars I would! My husband and I eat at Steak and Shake on average once a month. This is the best steak and shake I have had in years! We are from st. Louis so unfortunately we can’t make this our regular Steak and Shake. We didn’t take pictures of our food because we’re both starving and it smelled too good to wait! The service was fantastic! I had the mushroom and Swiss burger and the meat was juicy not dry. My husband is a man of few words he said his “burger was good no complaints” he almost always find something to complain about. But not this visit! The restaurant was clean and the service was speedy. We will definitely come here again next time we visit this area.

Order was made correctly 100 percent. I can’t tell you when any restaurant has last done that. Everything tasted great. Real steak taste thin burger. Good fries they could use more salt. Amazing vanilla shakes. Quality bags and napkins! Staff was great. Price was much better than competitors. I haven’t eaten here in years but we will start again.

We came to this location after a 3 hour drive because it was close to our hotel. BIG mistake. We visit our local Steak & Shake at home often and do not have any issues but this one was AWFUL. We went through the Drive Thru and ordered $72 worth of food for my entire family. Upon getting back to my hotel room, I noticed my chicken strips were NOT in my bag! VERY frustrating! I called the restaurant, and the reply I got was “Yeah, we still have your chicken I’m sorry. If you come back we will give you extra chicken” So even though I was frustrated I went back because I was hungry. They literally gave me 1 extra strip and the strips were so hard I couldn’t even eat them. Our fries were cold and tasted like they were cooked in old oil. The customer service was awful, the employees definitely do not like their jobs. I will not be visiting this location if I ever come through Springfield again.
