Steak ‘n Shake, a classic American brand, was founded in 1934 in Normal, Illinois by Gus Belt who pioneered the concept of premium burgers and milkshakes.
For over 85 years, the company’s name has been symbolic of its heritage. The word steak stood for steakburger. The term shake stood for hand-dipped milkshakes. Gus was determined to serve his customers the finest burgers and shakes in the business.

We arrived fairly late in the evening and were pleasantly surprised to find Steak ‘n Shake still open. We were seated immediately
Our waitress was pleasant and brought out our drinks immediately after taking our order. The burger, grilled cheese & french fries were excellent. The onion rings were okay. The shake we received was vanilla instead of chocolate as ordered, but it was still decent. Food was good enough to visit again.

The first thing that stood out was this Steak ‘n Shake still has servers taking your order and you don’t have to order at their kiosk. Hooray! I ordered a double steakburger with cheese and an Oreo milkshake. The steakburger came out hot but a little greasy. The milkshake was incredible and extremely filling. Excellent service!

10:30am and the place was busy!! Didn’t stop the gang at this location from serving up great food with great service. It was nice the family was able to get breakfast or a tasty burger!

We had the absolute best experience here, our waitress was incredible, quick, and SO friendly!!! We were traveling from Arkansas back to Northern Illinois and decided to stop here on the way home. Everything was fresh, delicious, and clean. Happy to be at a Steak ‘n Shake that still has servers.

Did an order online and still waited over 20 minutes past the pick up time that was given. The female workers were arguing non stop where customers could hear them. Restaurant was really dirty, visible food under the tables and the hostess still seated multiple people to these areas without cleaning them first.

The food and people were fantastic. However apparently the general manager has a new rule where you have to pick up mobile orders inside you cannot go to the drive-thru. I understand this for DoorDash as you have to verify the orders, but that is absolutely stupid for a general mobile order.

I sat in the drive thru for about 20 minutes. I ordered 2 bacon cheeseburgers with fries and 3 chicken tenders and it was OVER THIRTY DOLLARS! The order was wrong and the food was cold!!! The 3 chicken strips are the size of my pinky fingers!!! I am beyond aggravated!!! Poor quality and poor service! The girl in the drive thru acted as if she hated her job.
