I only asked for extra noodles and wanted everything else on the chili macs. Right you think that would be simple i used to work at steak n shake. I understand but the noodles were cold, wet and not good. I literally gaged.

Ordered my burger No Ketchup, clearly shows on reciept. Got home 20 min later, took a bite and got a mouthful of ketchup. So I put back in the bag and drove 20min back. A person named Jimmy (ironically the one who messed up my order) claimed to be thr manager amd offered to remake the order. At this point I’m done with trying to eat, I just want my money refunded. He then tells me they can’t refund the cash I paid, it has to go on a card. And then it can’t simply go the card, the info needs to go to corporate so he starts writing down my card info. The writes an incorrect refund amount. When I pointed that out, he looked at the reciept again and said oops, good catch. He proceeded to write another incorrect refund amount. Thrid time, he got the amount correct. But by this point, I really don’t feel comfortable with this guy having my credit card info, especially being told it’d take 3-4 days to process. Sorry, not acceptable. I began the process filing a complaint with corporate while standing in the lobby. Within a few minutes Jimmy had my cash refund. Feel like I was about to get scammed. People shouldn’t need to be refunded, but when they do it should be in the method used to pay. If corporate responds and verifies this IS the actual refund policy, I’ll happily amend my review accordingly.

Shoutout to Bre in the drive-thru today — her customer service was straight and a pure 10/10! She was professional, genuine, and made the whole experience feel welcoming from start to finish. I ordered the Western BBQ Bacon Burger Combo with a strawberry shake, and Bre told me she personally loved the burger and that I wouldn’t be disappointed… she was absolutely right! The burger was fresh, flavorful, and hit the spot.
It’s rare to get service that feels this real and positive, and Bre definitely deserves recognition for how she represents the brand. Thank you for making my visit a great one — I’ll definitely be back!

Pulled into Steak ‘n Shake with a craving and a mission—but what I got was less “fast food” and more “culinary hostage situation.”
The guy on the speaker greeted me with a polite “please take a moment to look at the menu”—but I didn’t hear him, so I jumped the gun and ordered a #5. He reappeared, sternly this time, like the ghost of Drive-Thru Regret, and told me again to take a moment. Okay, message received. I waited. And waited. About 5 minutes later, he was ready to honor my hunger.
Paid for my order at 6:01 p.m.
And then… the true adventure began.
Back at the window: “ma’am , what was your order again?”
A few more minutes: “ma’am , remind me what you had?”
Now I’m wondering if this is punishment for speaking too soon at the speaker. Like some kind of burger karma. The line behind me grew like a Black Friday sale, and eventually, a kind soul asked me to pull forward and they’d bring the order out to me.
Twenty-five minutes after paying, my bag finally arrived. At this point, I wasn’t sure if I should eat it or have it blessed by a priest.
The food might be fine (I’m still working up the courage to eat it as my intuition screams no), but the service? That’s a story I’ll be telling for a while. Two stars for the suspense, five stars for the patience I didn’t know I had.

Did get hissed at by homeless man who was roaming around inside. He also chased my friend and I out of the restaurant and pulled a knife on me.

Tonight was our best steak and shake drive through experience since pre covid. The wait was not long. Daniel the drive through attendant was pleasant! The food and shakes came out perfectly and the food bag was well packed with napkins, plastic cutlery, and condiments. My food took long enough to make considering i ordered through the app to get my order started asap. I arrived and checked in, still not ready. When I was finally given my food I was missing my shake so I asked where that was and was told it was being made. I did check my order to make sure everything that I did order was in the bag. But when I got home my burger was dry and the bun was hard to eat my fiancee’s burger was not made the way he ordered it, as in there were no tomatoes, barely any mayonaise and one tiny piece of lettuce that was wilted and rotten, definitely going bad, it was almost molded. As well as not safe to eat. For the prices of fast food nowadays I think that we as the customers deserve our orders to be accurate, good quality, and arrives hot and always the way we order it. Especially nowadays since we are forced into using apps and kiosks to order. I think that we shouldn’t have to worry about checking our orders before we leave the restaurant or store! If an order is put in through an app or any other way besides at the front counter, then the staff should go above and beyond to make sure there are no and I mean absolutely No mistakes! I definitely don’t believe that these new age staff members at fast food restaurants should be making $15 or more an hour at all, and it seems like nobody wants to work at all anymore. And that’s what they said they wanted to continue working. I think there should be more training involved and things should go back to the way it was before Covid.

7:30pm order #50100 drive thru ordered 2 double cheese burgers and chili .staff was great… but the 2 double cheese burgers were burnt To a crisp and i could even finish, my dog didnt even want em u threw away, called restraunt 3 times phone just rang no answer … but who ever is cooking shouldnt be cooking,,, i eat at steak n shake on hampton 3 times a week never had bad food like this, just check your food after you cook it. Also there was only 1 car behind me they werent slamed with business please fix the cooking

Where do I start….YUCCCCCK ! Food is ALWAYS super inconsistent. One minute it’s SUPER good then the next it’s like TERRIBLE ! This really sucks because I love steak and shake. The location on Hampton is 100000 times better I just come here every blue moon because it’s by my house but I no longer will I’ll just make the drive.
