Me and my wife decided to try something new and have dinner here. I had trouble with the kiosk machine but I managed. The food was great, but it took a long time for our food to be called out to us. While waiting I mentioned that the lobby area had some filthy tables. I was not mad it seemed like they had little staff. But this young gentleman came and cleaned them immediately. While doing so I mentioned to him that our food was taking quite some time. He apologized and said he’d have it out shortly. Few minutes fly by and he approached my wife and handed her a bag of food. Apparently an online order cancelled and they didn’t want it to go to waste so he passed it on to us. The staff was very welcoming. The manager was very professional and the other young gentleman on the grill had us laughing while waiting. Good employees but the store could be cleaner and have food out faster.

After we arrived, we learned that you cannot order from the table. You have to get up and use the kiosk, whether dine in or take out. There are no more plates and glass and silverware. It’s all plastic single use and the atmosphere is gone. I never go to steak ‘n shake BUT I did today to show my 4-year-old and experience she hasn’t had before. And the kiosk even asked if we wanted to tip. I wasn’t sure who I was tipping the computer or the programmer. Definitely not a human. The worst part of my 0experience was the soda machine. You have to scan your receipt in order for the soda machine too even work. So I scan my drink, and got drinks for my family and after we cleaned up our own table I discarded my receipt before I got my refill so I asked an employee if they could turn it on so I can get a refill and she said no we don’t do that. I WONT BE BACK!

Good food, great milkshakes, clean restrooms. Staff wasn’t overly friendly but they were mostly preparing meals and working . You have to place your own order on a kiosk so customer service is limited anyways. One of the men let us take a milkshake glass home with us as a “souvineer” so that was a bonus. Will visit again if ever in the area.

Oh my goodness gracious!!! This place is so delightful and so welcoming!! My first visit I was a Dine-in and the dining room was actually fairly clean for it being in Jefferson County. Not a crack addict in sight. The tables could have been wiped down a little more, but other than that it was clean.
Although my second visit I was a dine-in as well. They had messed up my burger. I had ordered it with no onions and to my surprise (silly me) it had onions. I went to the drink station and waved down an employee from the back. She was a bit on the shorter side and had glasses. She was very rude and passed me off to another employee. I didn’t quite catch the young man’s name but if I recall it was along the lines of chase or chance. I want to shout out this young man for going out of his way to apologize and remake my order. He was the kindest employee I’ve ever came across in my 58 years of living. He’s a ladies man for sure and has a very cute smile. Definitely deserves a raise

I was told to wait in the drive through due to short staffing. I understand and was willing to wait. Waited an hour before attempting to communicate again. Absolutely no response. Diners inside we’re still receiving service while over 10 cars left the drive through. Not sure why I waited so long before leaving, but I kinda wanted to see how long they would let it go for. Absolutely never going back there. How can you trust a store like this to cook food safely if they can’t even staff enough to pay attention to the drive through? Very unsafe.

Very nice place and food. Didn’t like having to place my order in the kiosk, since I wanted special and it took longer. Then at the end they actually asked if I wanted to leave a tip after I had to place my own order (no human) and pick it up myself at the front when ready. We also cleaned our table before leaving. They should have tip me.

I was on the 1,700-mile road trip when I saw the sign for steak and shake. Instantly pulled into the diner, unfortunately you have to order everything through a dumb tablet but the food was amazing. They were out of ketchup at the time but I’m sure that was fixed. Service is great, people working behind the counter prepared the food in a timely manner & we’re very nice.

Short staffed at 11pm and literally acknowledged me at the drive thru speaker twice asking for patience. Car in front of me ordered a ton. 7 cars went around me in 25 minutes and I asked for help again at 30 minutes of waiting at the speaker. No customers in the restaurant by the way. Tis the season and way to lose business. I was ordering a 3 piece tender and fry. Food has gotten better, but this was unacceptable tonight.

Tried to go through the drive thru and were told to use the app or come inside. We went inside and had to place our order on a computer. Placed our order and waited inside. Talked to the manager and he said there won’t be any waitresses. You come in and order on a computer or drive thru (which was closed when we drove up) or their app. The food was horrible. Burgers weren’t made right and cold, fries were such a small amount you had to look in the tiny cup to see if there were any. The 3 way chili was filled with a bowl of noodles with a small amount of chili. You couldn’t even get the noodles covered. I checked the bag before I left and there weren’t any fries. I told the girl who brought out the food and she gave me one order of fries instead of 2. I had to tell her again I need my fries. She laughed and thought it was funny. This is the worst food at a Steak N Shake we’ve ever had. I called them when we got home and they wouldn’t answer. I suggest you take your business elsewhere.

The first time I went inside to eat at this Steak N Shake, the entire restaurant was filthy! The bathrooms, the glass, the tables. Even the aprons that the employees wear looked years old and filthy! We went through the drive thru tonight and it we waited 20 to 30 minutes! I’ve been to other Steak N Skakes and this one is by far the worst one I’ve ever been to. Do better or lose customers.
