I haven’t come here in a long time. I still love the diner vibe that has always been my view on this place. But now they got rid of all servers and you do all your ordering through a kiosk and basically you are serving yourself. All they gotta do is cook up the food and make the shakes. Like cool and all, gotta save money by not having servers. But it didn’t feel the same as when I used to come here and I don’t know…interact with a human server. Everything just felt off on this experience. Food was okay and the shakes were great. But idk when we will come back. Probably another 5 years if they are still here.

Today 1-22-26 I ordered a combo sandwich with cheese fries and a sweet tea, which I order very often this is the worst experience I’ve ever had I ordered on the restaurants site. At first I was glad the food came really quick but the first thing I noticed is usually they have the bag folded and their tape that seals the bag to prevent anyone from going in it so when it only had a piece of scott tape across the top I felt something was off, but I opened the ba and the first thing I saw was my fries usually it’s full and even so many there is extra at the bottom of the bag and they were cold so I thought the guy who delivered it must have eaten some and use the tape to close it so I wouldn’t think anything was wrong then I pulled out the cheese which was hot and the sandwich was cold not only that it had onions on it which when I customized it I didn’t ask for onions but I said ok no big deal when I went to take the onions off I was shocked to see a piece of dried crusty patty if I can call it that with holes in it so big I could see the toppings underneath, this was unacceptable so I called the restaurant and asked for the manager the gentleman who answered the phone said he was the manager – John. I started to explain about the issue with my order he said first you shouldn’t order from the site because we have no control on who picks up the order and delivers it could be door dash or grub hub I then said my issue really isn’t with the delivery of the food it is the quality of what your restaurant and if they didn’t trust who was delivering their food why are they using their service. After I told him he said he didn’t think there was anything wrong with the order he is the one who did the order, first of all if the manager sends that type of food out to customers what are the employees learning and sending out. I told him I wanted a new order he stated he couldn’t do that he has no drivers , then I said then I want a credit he said he couldn’t do that either so I said I want a refund he said he could do that but it would take up to 5 days to get it back, it didn’t take 5 days to take it out of my account and especially in this electronic age. He did offer me a new order the next time I come into the restaurant but I told him I don’t come to the restaurant I always order on line and have it delivered. I still wasn’t happy with the outcome I went to the website and looked to contact corporate office but only saw a feedback section so I wrote what happen and tried to send it and couldn’t because it only allows you to send 1200 words well I need more then that to explain my issue so take a look at this picture and you will see my issue.

I like the fact you can order from a kiosk. Most people who work in fast food hate their jobs and lives. So its nice to not have to deal with unhappy workers. Food is good, burgers are far better than many fast food places. The shakes are the best! Overall a nice to place to go once I am while.

Love the burgers and never once had a problem with the food or the cooking. Service can be quiet fast sometimes. They do have a habit of putting a lot of ice in the large cups as well but I do believe their soda machines are set on a certain amount, either way the food is wonderful and the team do a great job over here at steak n shake, my father is the reason why I heard about this place and why i go here ever so ofen!

You have to scan for a drink and it shuts off if you try tolet the foam settle,but you can scan for refills.
Tables are dirty,cleaned my own.
Food was ok.

Take my family there every year and always have an awesome day and come home with the best treats ever. Especially the cidar, donuts apples n fudge can’t beat it. We missed Rob Edwards this year he was both my son’s and my oldest granddaughters music teacher. As far as price we never worry about the price because the quality is always great. I haven’t been to a steak and shake in many years. If you exclude the one I visited that was located in a Mississippi hotel casino about 8 years ago, it’s been 20 years. I was pretty surprised to find that, at least this location, didn’t have some of my favorites anymore. No soup, no peppers in vinegar, and no cash register. It’s all kiosk. The employee that walked around “helping” people was not helpful at all. The fountain pop machine requires you scan your receipt before it will work, and the benches are an accident waiting to happen. See photos. We paid extra for a second sauce to go with my daughter’s chicken strips and did not get it. When we let the unhelpful employee know, she made us pull out our receipt to prove that we paid the extra .50. Kind of petty if you ask me. The food itself was fine, no complaints there. This is likely my last ever visit to steak and shake ever, and I’ll no longer recommend it to others. Too bad. Since the food was fine, it’s a shame to ruin it with petty things. I do not recommend.

You have to try one of my favorites, Garlic burger and onion rings you will thank me later. Treat yourself to a strawberry shake if you’re not allergic to strawberries. Mint chocolate chip is also another way to go. Enjoy!

It’s been a few years since my last steak ‘n Shake stop, and I gotta say I have been missing out! The burger was fantastic. The French fries with beef tallow are some of the best I’ve ever had! And you can even buy with bitcoin!!
