I love the food at Steak and Shake, but this location is always unbelievably slow. I order via the app to take advantage of the points, but my food is never ready when they say it will be and I end up standing there an extra 10 minutes for “fast food”.
They’re always apologetic, but I honestly don’t understand why they can’t work out the kinks. There are hardly any Steak and Shakes left, and it’s unfortunate because the food is better than other chains.

Food was hot and fresh. Milk shake was very good. The inside needs a complete renovation. Or at least please clean the vents and ceiling tiles. They are filthy.

We ordered carry out. We live 5 minutes from the restaurant. When we got home our 2 hamburgers were REFRIGERATOR COLD. When I took off the top of the bun there was a glob of cold butter to the side, the pickles were 3/4 way off of the sandwich and it was COLD…not barely warm…COLD! We ordered onion, pickles tomato lettuce—no onions just a glob of cold butter.

So… there I was… AGAIN!!!… Driving around on a Late Summer’s Day in August… with the temperatures in the mid 80°s… But the heat… the heat was SO HOT… that when I drove by a GROUP OF TREES… I wanted to stop… and cool off under them… But suddenly… I became SUSPICIOUS of the Trees and I did not stop… YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY…(you are going to love this answer)… BECAUSE THEY SEEMED A BIT…….. ** SHADY **……………… OK, OK… call off your guard dog… I will show myself out… But first let me tell you about my lunch at Steak & Shake… It Was FANTASTIC… There were lovely cooks preparing the meal… but no waitress to seat me. They have a New Kiosk to place your order. And then you can seat yourself where ever you would like to sit. They prepare everything fresh… and you can taste it… They have the 4 for $4 Special. Plus I was just in time to take advantage of the Half Price HAPPY HOUR Weekdays from 2pm to 4pm… Hey… maybe you too can pay them a visit… They have really cool music to listen to while waiting… or you can try to win some stuffed toys… But you will leave very happy and still have enough to add more gas to your gas tank to come back and visit them again.

I try to only review places that I enjoyed, and this was a wonderful surprise in Batavia. Clean, cool and the music was perfect. While the kiosk ordering system is easy to use, I was still offered assistance in its use by the man behind the counter.
The tables and booths and entire atmosphere are sleek yet retro. The burger and fries were delicious and the chocolate shake…WOW. There is nothing quite like a perfectly made shake in a tall chilled glass with real whipped cream and a cherry on top. I had chocolate this time, but strawberry must be the choice next time.
This is a great place to dine-in and kids will love it as well. There is even a “claw” machine filled with toys for them to retrieve.
This visit really made my day better. The staff was friendly and I left in a wonderful mood.

I been an Steak & Shake customer for many years, but lately Im very dissapointed with my shakes, I remember the whip cream all the way up, because the whole cup was filled with shake, Not anymore .

First time eating at one. The burger was good and reasonably priced. The milkshake was quite good.
Didn’t have anyone take your order so use the touchscreen so I made a mistake and put extra onions on the chili. Still good though!

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, it’s classic American fast food at its finest just wish they were still open late so I could come more. Just came today 02/03/25 and the drive through operator was quick, kind, and professional despite how busy she was 🙂 give that lady a raise!

This is a self-order from a kisok inside. The drive thru is available as well. The food was as expected for this lovely chain – You can’t go wrong with a Frisco melt and classic fries. For random fun there is a claw machine.
