Ordered a head on the app last night 11/23. I showed up no one was working but all the lights were on and everything was up and still functioning. It’s like the employees disappears and didn’t want to do the job they get PAID to do. Whoever worked that shift that night needs to be FIRED. Manager on shift also needs to be FIRED. I sat outside for 20ish mins waiting for someone to show up thinking they maybe took a bathroom break. No one ever showed up. I couldn’t cancel my order on the app and never got my money or my points back. Instead after an hour my order was marked as “complete”. Which makes me think the employees all of a sudden showed up when they felt like it. At any food place they have to push and confirm you picked up your order. Once I figure out if this place is corporate owned or privately owned I will be contacting someone with more authority because this is the WORSE experience I have had with a Steak ‘n Shake. I arrived at 8:40 PM to place an order through the drive-thru and received no response for nearly 10 minutes. When I attempted to go inside, the doors were locked—even though the posted hours stated the dining room and drive-thru were open until 10 PM.
During this time, I also noticed a child sitting alone at one of the tables with no employees in sight. There was no communication, no sign on the door, and no explanation.
This location consistently has slow service and poor customer care. Whoever was on shift during this time needs to be held accountable. The least they could have done was leave a note indicating they would be away. Absolutely unacceptable.

We were seated within a few minutes upon arrival by our waitress. She was very friendly with my kids and engaged them in friendly conversation. Our food arrived in a timely manner and everything was hot. The eggs were cooked just as was ordered, and the bacon was crispy. This is the best Denny’s I’ve been to in a long time. Everything was clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. It’s conveniently located off the freeway so if you’re passing through definitely check it out.

We were on the road heading through Indianapolis and in a hurry. I used to really like Steak N Shake but the ones in our area have went downhill or closed so it just hasn’t been on my radar. Because of this I wasn’t really considering stopping there but after I tried online ordering at 2 other restaurants in the area and getting fed up with their site, I decided to give Steak N Shake a try. I’m glad we did. When I walked in the store was clean and bright. It looked there were only 2 people working but I didn’t have to wait for service. Our fries were hot and full (I hate it when I order a Med and they only fill the box 1/2 way up as seems to happen frequently at many fast food places). Our burgers were loaded and perfect! I can’t say enough about how impressed with this location. That being said, the hotel next door looks sketchy and, if I was alone, I would have been freaked out a bit.

Close this location already. The workers don’t care. The food is always prepared carelessly. The Parkin lot has trash in it, the drive through is raggedy, trash and cups in the bushes.

Ordered/paid for food on the app. No one answered the door nor my attempts at the window even though someone was inside. Placed complaint thru the app for MGMT to call me directly…..have not been contacted yet. Service has been spotty for at least the last 30-60 days, but it seemed to be improving until this incident.
