I visited this steak & shake on 2/23 and I had a terrible experience. While at the drive thru window, it was very unorganized. Once we got our food, there was hair in the fries. While I eventually received a refund, several employees seemed dismissive. I was never offered a remake or a full refund. They offered to refund for what the hair was on only. They were passive aggressive which was odd to me because the hair was in MY food. The fries were also cold and I didn’t receive the condiments I requested. As a solution, my full order was refunded but I still would not recommend this restaurant at all.

We just encountered Qoury in the drive through – She was the friendliest food service worker I have encountered in a long time. Her cheerful disposition is the very reason I came to leave a review. Hower, I ordered a “Bowl “ of chili …It barely made a cup.,. Was charged for what should be equivalent. Not mad …However, I received LITERALLY HALF OF THE CUP SIZE.
I literally received 2x half cup size of my freaking Chili. The Cup size wasn’t Even FULL!!! I get what should have been… Not cheap. Especially since stuff isn’t the same

The dining area was open later than other far good places in the area, which was nice. Ordering was done through a screen where the cashiers used to be. The side machine required a code on our receipt to be scanned before dispensing drink. It didn’t work; but a worker was behind the counter who could override the system to allow us to get the drinks we purchased. The double cheeseburger and fries were delicious. Note that Steak N Shake is a place where the fries are generally thinner and more well done than some other places. The burgers are juicy and messy. There is a nice restroom in which to wash hands after enjoying your burger.

Dined at this location around 1800 on November 30,2025. My wife took the kids in the bathroom to clean up before we left. She sent our son out to come to the men’s bathroom because there was fecal matter on one of the toilets in the ladies bathroom. There was also no soap.
My wife kindly went and kindly asked for the manager. She told her the bathroom was disgusting and there was no soap. The managers response was it’s NOT out you just don’t know how to use it. This is after my wife stepped into the men’s and got soap from the same style of dispenser just fine. I come out of the bathroom to fine.
The managers response was very rude, condescending and degrading!!

Up here from Evansville Indiana. All our steak and shakes closed and we miss them. Manager at the Fishers store was awesome. Food was great.. please bring one back to Evansville Indiana and run it like this manager does!!

Has kiosks at the front to order with with no one at the front counter. The kiosks want to use facial recognition on you just to order a hamburger; which is a bit creepy and weird. Otherwise it’s Steak ‘n Shake with their classic pressed burgers and shoe string fries.

The restaurant is disgustingly dirty. Even their #1 milkshake sign has stuff dripping down it. If you aren’t going to serve us personally anymore, you could at least have a clean restaurant. It was so dirty that it honestly made me lose my appetite.

Ohmygoodness! This is the best SnS I’ve ever been to. The level of cleanliness was top tier. They have the kiosks to order and the self serve drinks now. They didn’t have that pre covid. Everything was done in a timely manner. And look at this food! That is commercial ready. Everything was 10/10 perfect!!!! You can tell the people who work there care and have work ethic which is so rare these days. Good job y’all!!!

Place was clean and food was good. This was my first time in a Steak ‘n Shake, but I enjoyed it. I had chili fries, shake, and the double “steak” burger. The chili fries were excellent but the sandwich was just OK. I will be back is I need a late night meal again
