While on a road trip, we looked for a fast food place with dine-in. When we saw Steak & Shake, we drove there, hoping it would be as good as always. There was no one at the counter, no hostess to seat us, and only two occupied tables with a dozen people standing around the five ordering kiosks. Uh-oh! We placed our order with minimal confusion, but I had my doubts about the taste of the food (see photo). Waygu beef? Beef tallow fries? What happened to the cute “Takhomasak” sign? Our burgers were small and dry and the buns were not toasted. The shoestring fries were not hot. The onion rings were greasy. The milkshake was pretty decent. Even though we placed our own order and picked up our own food when our name was called, the staff was courteous. The manager came out to offer assistance with the kiosk ordering. It did bother me that when a woman near us asked for ketchup, an employee pointed her to the counter and told her it’s next to the straws. I would have expected the young lady to offer to bring it to the older, already seated woman. We’ve decided we’re through with Steak & Shake.

Utterly ridiculous visit today. Took over 15 minutes for chicken fingers. I had to go around two times because they were telling us to go to spot 1 yet spot 1 was taken. Also forgot my drink and my barbecue sauce, I almost went back but at that point I was fed up and done dealing with their disorganization and low communication skills. Get it together.

Kudos to the staff and management. A large group of young basketball players both boys and girls and their parents came the restaurant this evening. The restaurant was busy but everything we ordered was delivered to the tables in a timely fashion. There were a lot of happy ball players and parents.

This steak ‘n shake was different than any other I had been too. Obviously with covid, changes were made for efficiency and customer service. You now place your order on computers, and they call out your order number for you to pick up your food. The place was very quiet while we were there, and the food was great. Using the computer to order was easy, and you could customize the food just the way you want it. What lacked just a tad, was the friendly customer service you expect from a restaurant. Kinda felt like I was just order number 140. But I get it. All in all good food and a good experience

Awesome burgers at fair prices. Our local version is pretty rough, but this one lives up to the Steak ‘n Shake name. We had to wait for a bit in the drive-thru line, but once we got the food we forgot all about that. Now that we know it’s here, we will make it a regular stop when passing through.

We started right here to celebrate a win with the kids. Always great shakes always great burgers but a few things made this visit special.
No longer waiting at the counter for a server now they have self service kiosks. You can pay cash or card.
Once your food is ready they will call your name. Our food was hot, fresh and perfect.
Floors were Alittle dirty but that’s what corporate gets for using white tile. Haha.
I noticed outside were a few tables and umbrellas, that’s nice.
