We have only done drive-thru. It’s hit or miss as far as friendliness, but most of the time the person at the window is very friendly and conversant. In general it’s quick and the food is good. We have gone several times and it’s pretty consistent.

It was our first time trying the food here, we loved it! The burgers are more thin and crispy. It tastes more like real pressed beef, compared to Mc Donald’s patties. The fries are super thin, but so crunchy and good. We tried the cotton candy shake, it tastes more old fashioned than the cotton candy ice cream you might try somewhere else. It’s more subtle, than a strong flavor. But we loved it. Worth trying. I loved all the pictures on the outside of the building. Great experience.

I just want to say I was upset with my order the 1st time through grub hub. I ordered a choc. Milk shake, chili add cheese and onionin, a steak burger with all the fixing just no tomato, fries, and a coke. I did not get my coke, they sent me a vanilla milk shake, I didn’t get cheese or onion on my chili, and they sent my burger with only tomato. I called and spoke with a supervisor she said I would have to come in to be able to get all my stuffed remade and that was the only way. I will in GA 50 mins away. Today I called and spoke with the most amazing supervisor named Jen Seale. She correct the mishap I had with the other supervisor. Corrected everything. I ordered grub hub again and Mrs. Jen made sure everything was corrected. She was super understanding about me not knowing my way around Chattanooga. Today when my food was delivered I opened my bag and had a sweet not from her saying she was sorry for my pervious experience. More places need a supervisor like Jen that care about the customers. I haven’t ate at a steak and shake in a few years so I was really looking forward to it. However when I walked it there was no host to greet us , we had to actually walk up and order at the counter. They didn’t have the menus anymore it was on a board like a fast-food restaurant, not many choices . We had to wait for our order number to be called out and go get it . We also had to get our own drinks and other stuff we needed. The food was served in little baskets and drinks went in a Togo cup. Milkshakes were the best served in the glasses .. not anymore . We had to throw away our own garbage… The food was good but not the experience I would expect out of Steak and Shake… this location in no longer a restaurant it is now a workaurant .
