My first time eating here, though I’ve seen them around while driving thru the states. I ordered three buttered divot cheese and cheese fries. Both were good, but the burger was very thin. (Almost like cutting a regular 1/4 lb’er in half). The burger was cooked very well, and toppings were everything I expected. A bit weird to me was having to scan a QR code for the drinks. Otherwise, the machine will not dispense any refreshments. (Soda/Pop). I tried their burger scan and ended up buying a full shaker. I would come back to eat here any time.

As I drove from Atlanta GA to Ocala FL, I stopped to get gas at Pilot and get food.
I do not like that a person is required to place their order into a huge computer. There’s 4 that are credit card only. One took credit card or cash. This equals is 4 jobs replaced by computers aka ordering system. If I was an owner, I get it. We are in 2025, so we should expect it. There was 1 lady near the order counter to help people of needed.
Flip side, my burger was great, even though they has run out of pickles. (How does a burger place run out of pickles,?) My burger was a commercial type burger. My fries were fresh and hot. I’m giving the full 5 stars even though there were no pickles

Since when did Steak ‘N Shake become a fast-food joint? No hostess, no servers, nothing personable whatsoever. That was always one of the major things that differentiated Steak ‘N Shake from other burger joints. It was old-fashioned and had heart. Nobody to greet you, just 4 kiosks, all of which accepted credit and only one accepted cash. This is the coldest, saddest, worst Steak ‘N Shake experience we’ve ever had, and how skimpy they were on the fries is disappointing, not to mention that they weren’t hot and were soggy. Absolutely shameful and depressing. The lady who gave us our order was nice, but her shining personality shouldn’t be crammed behind a cold counter.

After driving for 6 hours I stopped here wanting to relax and enjoy lunch. No hostess. When we arrived we had to go to a kiosk and place our order, then go to the drink machine and figure out how to turn on the machine ourselves. You can only fill your drink twice and have to scan every time you go to the machine. Then you have to pick up your order even if you’re dining in. The food is disgusting. Fries taste like they’ve been sitting for awhile. I ordered the Frisco burger and the meat was so thin I wanted to know where the rest of it was. It was not freshly made. Below room temperature, looks like a dog chewed it up and spit it out. I do not recommend this establishment. Not only have they taken away potential jobs with machines, the food is disgusting!

We were shown to a table not long after we arrived. The waitress came and took our orders. Not a long wait for our orders to arrive. Ordered the special and it was very good. Lots of menu items all reasonably priced. This location is nice and clean and has nice staff. I can see us returning.

Stopped in for lunch on a weekend got seated rather quickly. Server took our order and explained different opinions about burgers. Food arrived quickly and was delicious, the only thing i didnt really care for was the shoe string fries as there was much to them. Prices were excellent, food is better than, wendys, McDonald’s or BK and the prices are about the same and even cheaper in some cases.

My fiancée went in and got something and was telling me how good it was. I got the garlic butter burger and holy cow it was amazing! I didn’t even bother taking a pic. The guy working there was also really nice. I got my food and shake very quickly, place was pretty clean, and food was excellent! Justin was really cool and very polite.

Road trip stop!!! I loooooove their burgers. You can customize however you want!! BEST BURGER I’VE HAD IN A WHILE. No McDonald’s, stop here for a fast food burger.

Even with the decent service I found it to be grueling to sit inside the restaurant due to the heat. Sweat had been accumulating faster than it had been outside, for it being a restaurant I would expect atleast a cool area rather than a sauna whilst waiting on my order for 15-30 minutes. Once I got my order (which had been two hot dogs and a set of fries with ketchup and mustard) we went on the road. A few bites in I took a look of my hotdog, only to find it hadnt been as fresh as I had hoped.

This Steak ‘n Shake is attached to a Pilot has station. During the 15 minutes we waited for only 2 shakes “to go,” we watched multiple other shakes get served in the window and just sit there for 6 or to 10 minutes before being eventually walked to a table. Tables paying for food had a long general wait and complained of orders being wrong. Servers ran in circles doing busy work rather than servicing tables or running food. The Steak ‘n Shake name and it’s location just off the interstate is what keeps this place busy. With poor unorganized service, food dying in the windows, cooks leaving the line with food on, and cash out delays I can see that new management would be in order. Be prepared to be delayed if you are passing through on a trip by choosing this store.
