Social Profile:

Steak ‘n Shake, a classic American brand, was founded in 1934 in Normal, Illinois by Gus Belt who pioneered the concept of premium burgers and milkshakes. For over 85 years, the company’s name has been symbolic of its heritage. The word steak stood for steakburger. The term shake stood for hand-dipped milkshakes. Gus was determined to serve his customers the finest burgers and shakes in the business. Today, Steak ‘n Shake remains the better burger leader, serving premium 100% beef steakburgers, hand-dipped milkshakes, thin crispy fries, and more. Steakburgers are made without preservatives or artificial ingredients, topped with fresh produce, and always hand-crafted to order.

Counter-serve chain known for steakburgers & milkshakes offers a dinerlike space with retro flair.

Steak and shake is a less known chain here down south, however I think it’s one of my new favorite fast food restaurants. It’s amazingly well priced with their burger and fries meals coming less than six dollars without a drink. The atmosphere is great and there are lots of decorations to give it that retro style aesthetic. The kiosk ordering system makes it so that they don’t have to spend time taking your order and can make your food faster. The service is quite fast and the food is absolutely delicious. Everything is a good price and the milkshakes are definitely worth it to try. Ten stars lol.

Went in for lunch. Didn’t speak to any staff there. You had to order/pay on a kiosk only. The only time you got to talk to staff was when they hollered your name to get your food. Very non-customer friendly/non-inviting. Food was ok.

Looked pretty clean.

Burgers were tasty, and made correctly, with fresh lettuce and tomato. Banana shake was the perfect consistency, tasted delicious, in a frosty, shake glass. I would have given 5 stars, but it was our 1st time here & the kiosk didn’t have instructions to scan the receipt for the drink machine. And the outside sign was out and hard to see from the road. Front entrance doors, glass, and walkway, were dirty. The napkins and other supplies were stocked, and the tables were clean. Trash area was also tidy and trash empty (not filled or overflowing like many restaurants)

We started ordering at the good kiosk and the cook was just yelling slurs to someone they were talking to across the counter. We spent 60$ on food for three people and waited twenty minutes to get it. Our shakes came out good, but we extra tenders we ordered (5 extra in total) were not there and I didn’t receive my large fountain drink I payed for while I saw another customer who came in after us get one. This is just unacceptable for the price we payed.

I love Steak and Shake. This restaurant in Silver Springs, Florida, has a great friendly staff. The only issue is they sometimes either run out of shake mix or their machine is down. I’m not quite sure what the issue is, but we didn’t get a shake on this trip. Maybe next time. We will keep coming here even if they don’t have shakes. Mom loves their burgers.

Kiosk was very easy to order from, food was amazing, hardly waited maybe 3 to 4 min before the food came out fresh, dinning area was very clean and comfortable, staff was very friendly and on task with their assigned duties. Drive through was busy but has a steady flow. With 5 maybe 6 employees on the clock they really did make sure that everything was on point, even the door dash orders. Great job steak n shake.

I used to love Steak n Shake but was very disappointed. The takeout window was filthy. I shouldn’t have ignored that red flag. The burger meat itself was super greasy and thin as a cookie. I like thin burgers but this thing was thinner than a cookie and it even had holes in it. The fries were stale too. I sat in my car and observed how rundown the exterior of the building looked. Never again

I mainly go there for the happy hour milkshakes thru the drive thru. I am also happy that they went back to using beef tallow for their fries. That is actually what I went in for and then I found out about the happy hour milkshakes.
Some of their employees are very rude. I said thank you to one of the employees ( through the drive through) 4 or 5 times with abdolutely no reply! The food has always been good. I did a low score on the atmosphere. Even though I don’t believe I’ve ever been inside. But I gave that score on the overflowing trash cans outside. Garbage all around the can and stacked on top. Kinda makes you wonder how they run the inside when you see that.

I’m not a fan of the kiosk ordering. It might be the younger people’s way of ordering but their finger are always on buttons all day anyway.
I grew up in a time that when people to each other.
Please bring back face to face ordering or a willingness to help the struggling customers.
