I had not been to this chain restaurant in years. We stopped there for lunch. I like their kios ordering option. There’s one available if you’re paying cash. The food came out quick and it was very delicious. You have to scan a QR code to get your drinks. The only thing I didn’t like was the large gap on the bathroom stall door.

Skip this location. Not a clean place. The floor of the entire restaurant is slippery from mopping with greasy water, or no soap, or mopping the restaurant after mopping a greasy kitchen floor. The men’s room also. Plus, no toilet paper. The cook went outside to his car in the middle of making burgers. The kiosk is a nightmare. Skip here.

Used to love eating here, at the Capital Circle and Tharpe Street location, but it’s just not what it used to be. That white blob of stuff on my bun, it’s supposed to be garlic butter. It’s a blob of cold butter that wasn’t even melted. Like they didn’t even have time to put it on the grill to toast it. Since you can only order from a kiosk now, you would think they have time to cook your food properly.

Clean restaurant. Awesome staff. Really good food. I informed staff of a milkshake discrepancy between what the kiosk says and what I received. Very respectful response and explanation by manager. I will be back to this location. A+++ Employees and service!!

This is the most depressing steak n shake. We’re from the Pensacola area and there a host greets you at the door and takes you to your seat. If you have kids, they give your kiddos a cardboard car to build and crayons and a coloring sheet. The waitress/waiter comes to your table and takes your order, then brings your drinks. Then when your food is ready, they bring it to you. You know what? None of those things happened at this location. The only human interaction we had was the nice blonde girl manning the drink area who had to explain to us how to scan a stupid QR code to get our drinks. She’s the glue holding your lousy establishment together. Your order kiosk is horrible, just hire someone to take orders. Ridiculous! There’s also no bottles of ketchup on the tables! I don’t think this place deserves to use the name Steak N Shake. Won’t ever return. Hire some humans and I’ll think about it. I’ll also note, we were the only ones there on Monday during move in mayhem. Everywhere else was packed, now I know why.

Ordering is a real hassle, especially when the self order machines do not work, not connected to take credit card payments. Service is non existent unless you consider having your name screamed out when your order is ready (if you were able to navigate the order system. I remember the good ole days when people took your order, greeted you and made you feel you were a valued customer. Restrooms need more attention too!

Ordered then got my drink, are they afraid you will still pop because you have to scan a QR code for the dispenser to work just to shut off on you. Then waited for almost 25 minutes for our food, the Frisco was burnt on both sides and the fries was Cold. By far the worst restaurant I’ve been to and I’ve been to a lot All over the US

Road trip stop. My husband had fond memories of Steak N Steak as a kid visiting the location in Iowa City, IA. When we saw the sign, he said we had to get a shake!
Horrible to non existent service. No welcome, Kiosk ordering, employee on her phone completed the experience by ignoring us. What I’m assuming was supposed to be ambiance music was loud and rapping of some sort you could not understand.
Get this… the kiosk asks for a tip!!! HELLO! We order from the machine, we pay remotely, walk to the counter to pick up our shakes and scan the receipt for the soft drink machine to function. What exactly did you do to earn a tip? Maybe we’re just getting old… tips used to be reserved for special services or going above and beyond your actual job duties.
Finally got our shakes (in to go cups, even thoughwe were dining in). The employee yelled my name, sat them on the counter and walked away. Mediocre at best, half was thrown away it was that yummy delicious.

Horrible food, and if you have older folks with you, navigating the kiosk will be a nightmare. The food is subpar and not up to standard to what I ordered. My sibling said “it looks like a parody of steak and shake.” No good service, and you don’t get seated like other Steak and Shakes I’ve been to. They make you scan QR codes for your soda. The cheese is disgusting. Not worth the hastle.
