We were so pleased with the amazing service and food. Everything we ordered was wonderful, including the complimentary bread, mushroom appetizer, Minnesota Nice Walleye (my husband said the asparagus was the best he has ever had), bacon burger with really awesome fries, Irish ale and key lime pie. The ambiance was relaxing and parking was plentiful. We will definitely be back.

The boneless buffalo wings were pretty good with light batter yet a little crispy. Great salad bar…very hard to find anywhere that has a salad bar these days!! The loaded baked potato was fine…it didn’t knock my socks off. The filet mignon wasn’t the best quality for the price. I would probably pass on the steak next time and try something else or stick with the salad bar. Service was great!!

The stuffed mushrooms appetizer stole the show. They were delicious. The sauce they are served with is so good that you don’t even need the stuffing in the mushroom and I would still order it just as mushrooms. It came with 5 very large mushrooms.
The pasta was almost a disappointment after having the mushrooms because the sauce wasn’t nearly as good as the one that came with the mushrooms! The pasta was decent overall though.
The prime rib sandwich was good. It came with very thick cut fries that were actually crispy. My husband really loved the horseradish sauce that came with it.

So happy Steak & Ale is back! So incredibly good & the service was excellent! All the servers were attentive to their surroundings & many took care of us (not just our waiter who was fabulous )! His name was Lauro. I haven’t had w vice like this in years.
For food we had the Hawaiian chicken & Almond crusted walleye. Large portions! Also, a small loaf of bread with pecan butter! Also, the entrees include the salad bar! Who has a salad bar anymore! The Steak & Ale does!
They were also playing nice, dinner music. 60’s 70’s & 80’s. I loved it!
Everyone needs to stop in for a meal. You won’t be disappointed!

Duck Lake Trail
We had a reservation at 6pm. Two of us arrived at about 5mn to 6 and approached the hostess stand – we were the only ones at the hostess stand waiting. A young man was busy wiping down menu’s and completely ignored us. At first I thought it was because he had his back turned – but more than once he turned enough to see me and went back to the stack of menu’s. I checked my watch – we waited 4mn for this guy to turn around and finally greet us. That’s how it stated. The restaurant was not busy – many tables empty – but apparently we did something to anger this kid because we were placed at the worst table in the place. A semi circle in the corner against the wall best used for 2 people, not good at all for 4 people especially when you have to get up to go to the salad bar. Our server, Mik, was fantastic. She did a great job and was attentive. I hope she finds a job at a different restaurant because we won’t be back to Steak & Ale – not like the host cares. He didn’t want us there anyway. Oh – by the way, we spent $300 for this – not again.

Went for dinner on new years eve. Waiter showed up after about 15 minutes and said he would bring water and bread was on the way. We asked if we could order drinks while we had his attention. Water came about 5 minutes later and drinks took about 10 minutes. We put our food order in when our drinks were served because our server would not show for lengthy periods of time. Once we ordered, food took about a half hour and was dropped off by someone other than our server. The bread showed up about 3 minutes before our food arrived. While eating we were waiting for additional water and drinks but the waiter showed up as we were finishing our meal and asked if we would like another drink. At this time we were ready to leave. Food was just okay but not worth the money. During this whole time the place was not all that busy where the waiter could have easily provided better service. Overall we are very disappointed with the service and the food. The environment was very nice and cozy though and the salad bar was excellent.

I rarely publicly blast a buisness but as they don’t seem to care about their reputation with their long time patrons I am going to put this out there. My family have gone to Steak and Ale since I was a child. Most of our family celebrations were there. After my last experience, I will find somewhere new. We tried to go for breakfast (we had a group of 10 but one was only a 2 month old so technically 9) we were told they can’t take such a large party. I asked what if we split into smaller groups? She told me no. I told her “it would be nice if you stated that you need a reservation on your website” she flat out LIED to me saying “I believe it does” NO! It most certainly does not! I looked before we tried to go there and after. Stop trying to gaslight your patrons. I tried to contact some form of manager and I just get ignored. Clearly they do NOT care about their patrons. I will NEVER set foot in your restaurant again. I will not reccomend you. Very poor customer service. The owners might want to address that.

Cheese curds were good. Had the Hawaiian chicken and it was probably the worst chicken I have ever had.,chewy and dry, I worked for Steak and Ale back in the day and it was my favorite. Husband had the prime sandwich which was more mushroom than meat. Added salad bar to two meals was $18 each!! If we would have known we would not have ordered.. we won’t be back. Most expensive meal in a long time and food did not meet the expectations and we were bummed
