You have to visit!! This place has everything a gamer wants it needs! First of all the staff is awesome! They are superbly friendly servers and double as amazing game masters. They recommend food, games, and will even give you a quick walk through on how to play.

The games are awesome. .. Everything from Gonuts for Donuts to Betrayal and everything in-between. Games for two players, games for later parties, games with low or high complexity.

Best of all are the tables. Game tables and large bench tables. Room to play and eat!

The food is good, reasonably priced, and something for everyone. It group left already planning our next visit. We each picked a new game to learn and research.

Great discovery!!

This place is amazing!
We went for their NYE event and had such a great time. They didn’t over book so there was space for everyone to play, plenty of options on the buffet, from appetizers, entree and sweets, all of which were amazing.
The board game selection is also great. There have simple and complex games for people of all ages. Our server was very nice and helped us to learn a new game.

Wonderful board game cafe with a great atmosphere. Really nice food and drink selection- we had some yucca fries and delicious coffees and mocktails. The cafe team was so sweet and the owner taught us to play a fun new game. Can’t wait to come back.

First time here and definitely coming back! Came in to celebrate a friends birthday and we ended up playing Puerto Rican bingo. Food was delicious and so were the drinks.

Went for my birthday with my family and friends. The food was delicious! I’ve never seen frituras so pricey but we indulged for celebration. The service was so friendly. The games were awesome. I really loved that they had a section of games just for the little ones, which really engaged my kiddos, and now they can’t wait to go back.

An absolute gem of a place in the neighborhood! The game passes are only $5 if you buy $10 worth of food or drinks, and you absolutely should because the food is pretty decent (I liked the plantains) and they have an excellent mocktail selection which is priced very reasonably! The Blackberry Hibiscus Bellini is a nice blend of fruity but not overpowering and is a great drink to start with. My personal favorite is the Coco Passion though, I highly recommend trying it at least once. The vibe is excellent! Compared to Snakes and Lattes, it’s definitely a more approachable and down-to-Earth type of place, and is not constantly overcrowded, which I appreciate.

Went to meet up with friends and my first time won’t be my last. Gluten allergy options are great! Loved the cozy and upbeat atmosphere. Service was great, food was delicious, and the options of games are awesome!! Can’t wait to go back again soon. Appreciate the kindness from service staff to owners interacting. My friends and I had a great time and look forward to going again soon.

Wow, wow, wow! My sister recently moved to Chicago and we visited for NYE wanting to find somewhere fun but still contained to celebrate. We stumbled across Stay and Play Cafe through our searches and bought tickets for their party. It was INCREDIBLE. Wonderful staff, atmosphere and games. I am gluten free and when the appetizers weren’t something I could eat they brought me vegetables and hummus. Totally not needed as they were busy and I know I can’t always eat everything but it made all the difference to feel included. The drinks were great and our server Jon was friendly and always checking on us. Next visit to Chicago we WILL be coming back and I am so glad to have found this amazing board game cafe.

This place was amazing. The staff went above and beyond to care for myself and my friends on their busiest night of the month. All of the employees were wonderful, but specifically Yesenia and Olivia took time to make our experience amazing. You can tell this is a place that cares so deeply for their employees and customers, as well as sharing the Puerto Rican culture. The food and the drinks were amazing and they had such a great selection of games (all of our favorites and many we have never played before). We have decided to make this place a staple every time we visit Chicago. Thank you, Stay and Play for the wonderful experience!

A very nice family owned business. Our group of 18 had a fantastic experience here. From start to finish, they took great care of us, making sure everything ran smoothly. The food was very good, and the owners were extremely friendly and accommodating. It’s clear they truly care about their guests. We’ll definitely be back!
