This is officially my second-ever gas station review — the first was for fish tacos, and now here I am writing about an $11 Tropical Kale smoothie.

On our drive back from Calistoga to Berkeley, my bestie and I needed a quick snack, and this stop in St. Helena was perfectly timed. She’s been here plenty of times; it was my first visit.

I went the smoothie route (solid, refreshing, did the job), but I couldn’t help noticing that most people were walking out with pizza. That seemed to be the move.

The place had a steady flow of locals and road-trippers, which is always a good sign when you’re pulling off the highway.

It was quick, easy, and exactly what we needed in the moment. Will I be back? Probably not, but this might be perfect for you.

Quick and consistent quality treats and takeaway meals like sandwiches, bowls, pizza (slices and pies) and toasts. Their baked goods like the croissant and donuts are above average, but definitely used to be better. My favorite are a cortado and their jambon beurre. I’ve been coming here since they opened ~5 years ago.

Their coffee drinks used to be much higher quality with a typical multi-group espresso machine and a skilled barista. Nowadays they have unfortunately regressed to a fully automatic machine with a noticeable quality difference. Though they are using Napa local Naysayer coffee beans which is a nice touch.

Staff is friendly and always helpful.

4 Stars – A Gas Station with Gourmet Dreams

Okay, so Station St. Helena is a gas station, but don’t let that fool you—it’s also a sandwich shop with aspirations of grandeur. Yes, you’re filling up your car, but you could also be filling up your stomach with a sandwich that’ll make you question if you’re actually in a Michelin-star restaurant. It’s a little on the pricey side for what you’re getting, but hey, it’s a gourmet gas station, so who am I to complain?

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting much beyond fuel and maybe a stale bag of chips. Instead, I was hit with a perfectly crafted sandwich that was almost too beautiful to eat (but I did anyway). The flavors were bold, the ingredients fresh—clearly, they’ve mastered the art of fancy sammies.

Would I return? Absolutely, but maybe just for a snack, not a full-blown lunch. It’s a treat… for your taste buds and your wallet!

Don’t let the gas pumps put front fool you. Great food. We had pizza slices and chopped salad. They also have sandwiches and quiche. Counter service but nice patio seating.

Really stale baguettes for sandwiches. Nothing on ham and cheese sandwich but meat and cheese-no mayo, no mustard or other toppings. Honestly, a gas station sandwich. Should have known better. Server didn’t know if they served wine? After paying for bottle of water ($4), had to go back and collect it…NIce patio for our dog, but there are much much better places to eat…

It’s ok. I was expecting more, I guess, from the pizza. I had heard such wonderful things, but it was a little over done and not that much food. I am very happy I was have lunch and not dinner. Didn’t really feel like it was worth it, but maybe it’s just not my slice of pie…

One of the best coffees I’ve tried! You have to try the avocado toast and salmon dish with multi grain toast! They are my favorites. Always pretty fast delivery and great staff.

I’ve come here for years I drive all the way from Petaluma! Excellent food and coffees what was exceptional was the chicken soup I drove here today and they don’t make it anymore so very disappointed to learn this! And tipped to the owner, I was in line to use the bathroom and there was literally no toilet paper and four people behind me. I did let the staff know that you were out of toilet paper.

The coffee was very yummy. The place across the street’s coffee machine was broken, so lucked out. Coffee scrumptious.

Stopped here for a snack on our way through Napa Valley and had the peppermint mocha. Love the minimalist but colorful concept. Walk up ordering was quick. Was told the baked break here is a must try. Love the combination of a gas station and bakery/bistro.
