The family and I went to State Fare for dinner on Christmas eve. The experience was awesome. Even with a high volume of patrons and added pressure of the holiday the staff from the greeter, waitress, and cooks delivered. Even with reservations there was a bit of a wait (between 15 to 20 minutes) but hosts were friendly and made sure we were informed of our wait status and always comfortable. After being seated we greeted by our waitress and our drinks and appetizer order was taken. Shortly after our main order was taken. As expected on a major holiday there was an extended wait for our food but it was worth it. The menu offered several different cuisine choices. Once we got our food the presentation and taste was on point. The waitress acknowledged the long wait for our food and apologized, but she went a step further to bring us some fried oreos and ice cream to tha k us for our patience. Great atmosphere for a family or a couples dinning experience. The food was flavorful and the drinks weren’t watered down. Overall I would recommend State Fare to anyone looking for a solid place to get some good food and good vibes.

We arrived on Saturday, Dec 6th during the afternoon. The restaurant was nearly empty, there were a few people at the bar area and maybe 2-3 parties seated at the tables inside, and 1 party seated outside.

We chose to sit outside. A waitress walked past us to service the other table of 2 but did not acknowledge us. Even if you are not serving a table, it is okay to speak to guests who have not been serviced and inform them that someone will be with them shortly. We waited for about another 10 mins or so and a gentleman finally approached us. He was kind and took our order. Not sure if they were short staffed or what but there were hardly any customers in the restaurant so customer service was expected to be top notch in my opinion.

We chose the breakfast platter with biscuit, bacon and eggs, as well as the Birria Benedict. The bacon was overcooked and texture was leather-like, the biscuit was hard and inedible. The Birria Benedict however was really good! The Birria was flavorful and moist, the cornbread waffle was savory, soft yet crispy! The mimosa flight was also good.

This was difficult to rate due to the lacking customer service and the breakfast platter quality. Overall the experience was average.

Nothing like having brunch with a nice view! Food was delicious and big portioned, drinks were 10/10.
The only complaint i experienced is service. Although our server was very nice and respectful, they do take a while to come to your table for drinks but also food takes a little more than the usual to come out.

The Mall/Market Street area was nuts and crowded on a Saturday night so we tried the State Fair and it was absolutely wonderful. The environment cozy, clean and stylish, and the staff felt like family. The woman at the front was so kind and another staff member took our photo for us and genuinely seemed to care. The food was fresh and I love that they make a lot of their own dressings and sauces freshly in house. We will definitely be back! Thanks for a great outing with our newborn

Dang this place is good. I had never heard of it. A work group was in town for a meeting, a google search gave us a few options. Glad we picked this place.
They seated a group of 15 without a reservation quickly.
The waitress and management checked on us several times. The drinks and refills came fast and often.
Our group orders appetizers- one of just about everything- and they were all fantastic. We ordered several different main courses, again all delicious. I had the wagyu sirloin, it was tender and flavorful. The pull apart bread was also great. The potatoes were just potatoes.
We finished off the meal with just about every dessert on the menu, again all great! They are not kidding around with their dessert portions. No one was able to finished their dessert without help or a doggie bag.
Great place, will be back.
They handled 15 different checks at the end without complaint and handled it all quickly.

A single complaint, the weird mid back chairs at the counter height tables are not comfortable- especially when you are there for 2.5 hours. Avoid these tables if you can.

What a beautiful place to visit! My daughter had lunch on the patio, and let me tell you—the food did not disappoint! I had a hard time deciding what to order but ended up going with the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich, and it was amazing! Our waiter was super attentive and really helped make the experience a positive one. They also have a great Texans Game Day menu that I’ll definitely be coming back to try!

We didn’t have a reservation, so we just walked in and sat at the bar. Debbie, the Maitre d’ helped get us 2 chairs together. She asked someone if they could move, and they kindly did. We were at the end of the bar where the drinks were made so we had lots of conversation with the two bartenders, Ashley and Julia were a delight even though they were swamped. I had a Cinnamon Old Fashioned to drink and my friend had an El Jefe Old Fashioned. They were both excellent.
My friend had a sweet green salad for an appetizer, it was excellent. Crunchy and sweet.
For entrees I had the Southern Fried Chincken with mustard creme sauce, sweet potato mash w/ mexican corn, pickled red onions and cole slaw. My friend had the Rodeo Melt.
The chicken was fried to perfection – crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, but the Mustard Creme’ sauce sealed the deal. Never had anything like it before. With the sweet potato mash and the pickled red onions it was the perfect mix of sweet, salty and savory. I don’t like cole slaw, but theirs was awesome.
I tasted the Rodeo Melt and the mouth experience was a nice surprise – very smooth and perfectly cooked.
Service was a little slow because it was very busy, but Kim, the manager, came around several times to give us updates, then at the end thanked us for being patient. It didn’t feel like a burden because the staff was so friendly and we kept up an ongoing dialog.
I rate this near the top of my list for dining experiences. We were having a good time, so the staff was having a good time with us.
The atmosphere and the food reminded me of Stephen Pyles’ Stampede 66 in Fort Worth.
I would go back a hundred times over.

Oops, I forgot dessert. We had the flan and the ice cream taco. The flan was out of this world. Creme Brulee consistency with raspberries and blackberries on the side. The ice cream taco was a sight to behold and delicious also.

Nice place to eat lunch. Great service…we had the wontons, fried sea food platter and the hot honey sandwich. The server graciously made my “sandwich” with lettuce. We definitely go back if we were in the area.

Came to celebrate my birthday brunch, Bloody Mary was delish and the food was good. Portions are good, I didn’t get anything too crazy , bacon was really good, they were out of sausage that day so I didn’t get to try that. Our waiter was great, very friendly and made my special day even more awesome with fried oreos and ice cream!
