Ordered the jerk ribs thru doe dash( finesse voice) and baby they were so good and seasoned. The jerk is a dry rub and I ordered on the side rice and peas(slightly over cooked) and cabbage which was soooo amazing and how much flavor. The plantains were great as well and I would definitely go back!

Probably one of the best Jamaican oxtail ive ever had. Tenderism should work here cause that oxtail was falling off the bone. Check it out you wont be disappointed.

Served old cold dry Jerk Chicken! The grill is going outside but my chicken was old and hard!! Unacceptable, called and was argued down that my food was fresh when it obviously wasn’t!! And stop putting those cheap frozen or canned veggies in the cabbage !!

Wow that’s really really good food. The combination of spices compliments each other to give the perfect creamy taste for the chicken and gravy which can be over pasta or rice.
The personal is welcoming you as if they know you for a while. They actually care how you feel today. Pricing is reasonable considering the amount of food your getting, you can either eat two days or share with someone, forget it I m not sharing this.I’ll eat there anytime.
I ll give them an excellent.

Tonight 2/18/26 my husband got a tray of the jerk chicken some cabbage and red beans and rice. And OMFG FREAKIN DELICIOUS!! I would give it 10 stars if I could. I would have a pic but kinda inhaled the food. I’m not big on spicy but it was enough you could feel the heat but not so much it burns your mouth and melt your face. You can still enjoy the other flavors. If you’re debating whether or not to go. Take the leap and go. You will not regret it.

We’ve lived around the corner from this restaurant for close to 20 years and had never been there. Decided tonight was tonight and we were not disappointed. We bought two large dinners to go. One was oxtail the other one jerk chicken and they were both on point. They came with sides of coleslaw and beans and rice and then I got some plantains on the side. Everything was amazing!
The orders took a little bit to come out because they had been so busy, but the staff was extremely eager to make sure that I was happy.
We will definitely be back!

This was nothing to write home about. The opening of the restaurant cabbage has a 10 minute wait . Only beef and chicken patties are ready. You get a better rate if you pay cash however they don’t have change. Society had really lowered standards. Not everyone can cook Jamaican food. The chef hit on some points in the oxtails but the cut back makes the meal suffer. Quality is out the door. 20 years in operation, it’s time to try another profession. The best thing about this meal was placing the portions I couldn’t eat to keep from throwing up into the refuge.

Star’s Caribbean Restaurant
When it comes to authentic Jamaican cuisine, true quality is rare — it’s something you can taste, feel, and remember. I’ve traveled across America, to every state except Hawaii, and let me tell you: finding consistent, flavorful, and truly authentic Caribbean food is a challenge.
But Star’s Caribbean Restaurant breaks that mold completely. This place is the real deal. Pound for pound, their food stands shoulder to shoulder with the best in the nation. The flavor never changes — it’s always rich, balanced, and unmistakably Jamaican. Every dish feels crafted with pride, not just cooked for volume.
Some might say the prices lean a bit high, but let’s be honest — quality has a cost. There are everyday restaurants, and then there are high-end culinary experiences. High-end isn’t about chandeliers or fancy décor — it’s about the chef’s skill, consistency, and flavor integrity, and Star’s has that in abundance.
Whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth, you can’t go wrong with Star’s. Don’t sleep on this place — it’s one of Jacksonville’s true hidden gems, and a must-visit for anyone who appreciates genuine, soul-satisfying Jamaican food.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five Stars — Worth Every Mile and Every Bite.
