In 1971 Starbucks opened in Seattle’s Pike Place Market and began a journey that has taken our coffee around the world. With our Chicago Roastery, opened in November 2019 on the city’s Magnificent Mile, we continue to expand the boundaries of our craft with the world’s largest Starbucks.
Welcoming coffeehouse with handcrafted coffee, espresso & tea, plus breakfast, lunch & pastries.

I recently visited Starbucks Reserve Roastery Chicago and it was such a great experience.
The building has five floors, and each level offers something different. The first floor feels more like a classic Starbucks, where you can order basic drinks and shop for merchandise. The second and third floors are more of a café experience with a wider and more unique menu. The fourth level is a bar where they serve cocktails, making it feel more upscale and different from a regular coffee shop. The top level is currently closed for the winter season.
The food was really good, and the portions were perfect — not too small and not too big. Everything felt well balanced and worth the price.
The cocktails are very strong in flavor and alcohol content, so if you don’t like strong drinks or that type of taste, I wouldn’t recommend ordering them.
There was a line, but it moved quickly because the staff is very efficient.
We spent around $45 on coffee and food and $25 at the bar, for a total of about $70 between two people.
I loved it and would definitely go back. It’s not just a coffee shop — it’s an experience.

Cool starbucks. Been to the one in shanghai and thought that one was cooler. But this one is considered the largest Starbucks roastry so it’s worth a visit. They do a lot of samples. Got to try a sample of 2 coffees and olive oil cake. Theres a lot more variety compared to a regular Starbucks. Nice gift shop. Theres a floor for take out, dine in, cocktails and coffee tastings. The chocolate hazelnut croissant was super good. The Tiramisu latte was surprisingly amazing! Was worried it’ll be too sweet but it was just right. Everything is a bit pricey, but its chicago. I’d say still worth a visit if you want to grab a drink or a bite, nice area to people/car watch.

Visited the Starbucks Reserve Roastery Chicago and had a great experience. The staff were incredibly engaged and took the time to help me decide what to order, which made it feel much more personal than a typical coffee stop.
The building itself is seriously impressive—beautiful design, multiple levels, and just a really cool atmosphere overall. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in Chicago!

I went one day and the wait / line was at least 45 minutes and I had reservations for an activity so I was unable to stay. The next day I went and there were only 2 people in line in front of me, so I’m not sure why because it was the same time of day. Definitely a tourist attraction that is worth seeing if you are a fan of Starbucks. The drinks were so upscale and delicious but typical Starbucks prices.

During our trip to Chicago, one of the highlights was the Starbucks Reserve. The place is huge with four floors, and each floor has a different vibe. It’s pretty busy, so you’ll likely wait at least 30 minutes to order, but the food and drinks are worth it since they have menu options from around the world. They also serve cocktails, which were really good. Seating is limited, but walking around, exploring each floor, and sitting for a bit makes the experience fun. It’s busy, but a totally different kind of Starbucks experience that everyone should try at least once. Loved it.

Busy! Especially midday, it may be hard to find a seat. However the staff were all extremely friendly and accommodating. Tasted 2 coffee flights on the 3rd floor which was a lovely experience. They ran out of the seasonal pistachio tart which was not so lovely, but the raspberry croissant was decent. Amazing atmosphere. If I’m ever back in the area, would love to check out the other 3 floors a bit more, as it looked like they have a large variety of offerings!

My friend and I are both Starbucks partners and we were excited to visit the Reserve store but our expeditions were blown away through the partners craft and care. We did the roasting and coffee tasting tour. Chris was so friendly and knowledgeable in the roasting process of coffee. Gabi was a knowledge expert on Starbucks and the Reserve store history. Going to the Reserve store and spending time with Chris and Gabi reignited my passion to be a Partner.

Starbucks Reserve Roastery (Chicago) is a cool experience, but you have to treat it like an “attraction,” not a quick coffee run.
We showed up thinking we’d grab a drink and move on… and yeah, that was not happening. The line can get long and part of it is outside, so if it’s cold out, wear a real jacket because you might be standing there for a bit. Once you’re inside it’s packed, but the staff keeps things moving and it’s actually fun to walk around and see everything.
If you’re going for cocktails, keep in mind they do one alcoholic drink per person, so pick what you really want. Also, the liquor floor seating is super limited and it’s honestly hard to find a spot—we ended up standing for a while because tables get grabbed fast.
There are still plenty of non-alcohol options and bakery items (easy for vegetarians too), but with the crowds and waiting, it’s better to go earlier if you’re bringing kids.
I’m glad I went once. Next time I’d go on a weekday or earlier in the day just to avoid the whole line/seating stress.

We stopped in today after a beautiful walk down Mich Ave. Today was a really nice sunny day to visit chi town. Barista Ozzie on the 3rd floor, gave us a nice presentation and sample of the “Chicago microblend” coffee. Really nice guy. Barista Amarae on the 4th flr, served us delicious alcoholic beverages. He was upbeat and really nice as well. Check him out if you’re ever in the area!

One of the best Starbucks Reserve locations I’ve ever been to. The wait was long, and unfortunately, they were out of their express drinks due to an issue. Despite this, the ambiance was outstanding, and their pastry collection was tempting and delightful.
We decided to try their experimental coffee bar and ordered the whiskey-aged nitro brew and miso hot chocolate. The nitro brew was incredible, with a subtle whiskey flavor without being alcoholic. The hot chocolate was refreshing, fresh, and soothing. Both drinks were a delightful treat.
The croissant was fresh and generously filled with chocolate. Overall, I had a fantastic experience, even though we couldn’t order from their regular menu. I’ll definitely return to try more of their unique flavors.
