Coincidentally, this is the same period during which I filed my only complaints regarding employee attitude and attendance. In the last seven years, employees seem to have gained the authority to close stores for any reason, an experience I personally encountered several times, most recently, during last Thanksgiving at the store located at the Los Angeles Original Farmers Market.
I´am, however, writing to express my concern regarding the poor attitude and unprofessional conduct displayed by two of your employees on the afternoon of 01/26/2026: Ms. Shan and Ms. Lynzie.
At approximately 03:00 PM, three individuals significantly disrupted my experience by listening to a loud lecture via computer speakers. The volume was high enough to disturb the “Coffeshop” ambiance I paid for, and also made it difficult to focus/relax.
I brought this concern to Ms. Lynzie, who appeared reluctant to address the situation directly. Instead of managing the noise, she stated she would need to consult Ms. Shan (the employee with a neck tattoo) to handle it.
Approximately 10 minutes later, Ms. Shan approached the group to address my concerns. However, instead of resolving the issues I had raised, she began engaging with them familiarly—laughing, telling jokes, and hugging. During this interaction, I noticed one of the individuals staring at me, which led me to believe I was the subject of their conversation.
As I prepared to leave, one woman from the table walked past me and muttered a derisive comment, something to the effect of “crying baby” or “whining baby.” Although I felt the urge to respond, I remained silent to prevent the situation from escalating. Ironically, I had initially involved the staff specifically to avoid a confrontation, yet the staff’s handling of the matter ultimately facilitated this unprofessional encounter. To make matters worse, Ms. Chan stepped back behind the counter and immediately struck up a conversation with Ms. Lynzie. Her behavior mirrored her earlier interaction with the group, minus the physical affection. The way Ms. Lynzie laughed while looking in my direction made it clear: I was the center of their attention once more.
Before leaving, I approached them directly to express that their behavior was not only demeaning and impolite but also entirely unprofessional. I reminded them that customers—and indeed all people—deserve to be treated with respect, regardless of age and background. Due to this experience, I will no longer be patronizing this Starbucks location.
As a loyal customer who has frequented Starbucks since before many of your current employees were born, I was deeply disappointed by the treatment I received.
I hope this feedback serves as a serious training opportunity. Your team must understand how to interact with the public with the respect and dignity that your brand claims to value.
Sincerely,

This outdoor area is rather large and clean.
Staff is friendly. I even got some really cool latte art during my recent visit!
Note: I’m a Starbucks Partner, but not at this restaurant.
