A Starbucks Like No Other
The San Gabriel Valley has Starbucks galore,
But this one feels different; it offers much more.
Not just a café, not a chain on repeat,
But a calm, shaded corner, with plenty of seats.
A trellis like a wide-brim hat spreads out its embrace,
Flowers bloom, birds gather, it’s a peaceful place.
A guitarist often plays for whoever comes to stay—
Bach, Tarrega, Debussy, or fiery flamenco sway.
The baristas are cheerful, and they’ll greet you by name,
Like the Cheers bar of old—it feels just the same.
Parking is simple, shaded under the freeway,
With restaurants and a movie to close out your day.
Just off the 2 freeway, Verdugo is the road,
Where this Starbucks stands waiting—your own trellis abode.

So, I go to Starbucks almost every day. My routine is I go to the counter, order a tall black coffee, and a venti ice water, then as they work on my order I walk over to where they have the milks and napkins, and I grab about seven napkins. Then I walk back to the counter and while I hold the napkins spread out on my palm I hold out my hand as the barista gently lowers the mug unto my palm. The reason I do that is if I spill the coffee on my way to my favor table, If I spill the coffee will be caught by the napkins and won’t spill onto the floor. Anyway! This morning, I arrived at Starbucks, parked in my favorite spot but instead of going in right away I decided to do a bunch of stuff in the car. When I finally went in, I walked over to my spot to drop off my stuff and I saw my order with the napkins waiting for me. Can you believe it! OMG! I love them. Their Kindness is not lost on me.

This has become my new favorite Starbucks, as I visit the area every week. The mountain scenery is excellent. Customer service is great and my online orders are always ready. The bathroom is very clean. While the inside has few tables and chairs there’s a very large patio outside with ample seating. Parking is also very easy both in front and behind the store. They have yet to be out of any item that I ordered.

Mobile order/ customized strawberry refresher w lemonade. Not only did I pay extra for my customized drink, I also brought in my own cup and when the female worker filled up my tumbler, she didn’t even fill it up to the top. Before I could say anything she immediately dumped the rest of my drink right away with an attitude as if I asked for a bunch of things. Very disappointed at this location.

The service was okay. However the drink served has insane amount of ICE! My drink was mainly overflown with ICE and the drink itself was not filled up all the way to the cup! Starbucks is already overpriced for their drinks, and will be more pricey when their new policy on February 13, 2023 comes! 🙁

It’s Starbucks you get what you get. Great service, they realized I messed up my order and fixed it. They’ve even replaced drinks after I accidentally blurted out that something was grody. Not too loud with the music. I don’t know what the 1 star complaints are about.
