Starbucks on 1140 W Riverdale Road seriously impressed me today.
Last year I was diagnosed with celiac disease, and since then I’ve honestly avoided Starbucks because nothing can ever be guaranteed 100% gluten-free due to cross contamination. But I’ve been battling a really bad cold and just wanted a warm drink, so I decided to give it a try.
I let them know about my gluten allergy when I ordered, and they were incredibly kind and understanding — not irritated at all (which sadly sometimes happens when eating out with food restrictions).
When I got to the window, the barista actually told me the vanilla sweet cream cold foam I originally requested contains gluten. I asked if they could remove it, and they immediately remade my drink without hesitation or annoyance. She also explained that they used clean utensils and equipment to prepare it.
That level of care meant so much to me. It’s rare to feel that heard and respected when you have celiac disease. I left feeling really grateful and will definitely be returning. ☕️

I bought the same drink at a different Starbucks earlier today and honestly I don’t know what kind of potion THEY were brewing — because it tasted like someone mixed battery acid with sadness.

My coffee was made wrong and disnt get the extra coffee shots in ny drink. I went back and Alexa made it amazing! Great service and she smiled the entire time and just made me feel good. Keep up that great customer service and smile! I love starbucks!

The drive through is the dumbest idea ever. People don’t know how to find the entrance because there are literally 0 signs. After wasting eternity in the drive through I placed a mobile order and went inside. It took 17 minutes of waiting inside for them to even start my drinks. Still haven’t gotten them yet. Worst Starbucks I’ve been to.

The staff were great and we appreciated them. My espresso was perfect and wasnt burnt at all (like i have experienced at most other Starbucks locations).
I really just feel that the cleanliness of the location could DEFINITELY be worked on. My partner and I came to sit in first thing in the morning. It was around 07:00 and good lort, the floor was horrendous. It appeared that there was no cleanup the night before. I went to wash my hands in the bathroom and it was even worse in there. There was 5 ladies behind the counter, all working very hard on completing orders. I am just surprised that they didn’t have one spare employee to clean. During the half hour my partner and I were there, two customers also commented on how filthy the place was.
Summary: Great staff, good service, busy location, not very clean.

I ordered a Tall Chestnut praline, it felt kind of light but didn’t think much of it. I was on my break and when I got to work I opened it to see it was pretty empty. When you pay X-amount for coffee you think they’d at least fill it up 🙁 employee was friendly though during interaction.

Stood at the register for 5+ minutes waiting for someone to take my order. They acknowledged i was there but never took my order. But there were 3 staff standing around chit chatting with each other. I sat back down since no one was taking my order. Finished with my business partner, and left. Music was playing way too loud to have any quality conversation. Table was sticky.
