Excellent Product, Beautiful Store, Disappointing Greeting
This new Starbucks location is aesthetically beautiful—clean, modern, and very well-maintained. My Caramel Macchiato was delicious and full, demonstrating the high quality I expect from Starbucks’ beverages.
However, the overall experience was significantly hampered by the lack of initial customer connection. I was the only person standing at the counter and was left waiting for a solid minute without being acknowledged. While the team was busy handling the drive-thru traffic (the reason I chose to walk in), I don’t feel this excuses the complete silence.
I believe in the “Green Apron” approach, and the absence of a simple “We’ll be right with you” was off-putting. I was ready to walk out before someone finally stepped over to take my order. A simple, immediate greeting would have prevented this moment of frustration. The store and the coffee are top-tier, but the hospitality needs an immediate focus.

New for East Tawas. Hiring local staff that carries forward the friendly and professional courtesy of our town. On Starbucks Red Cup Day, they had an entire box still available around noon (you couldn’t purchase any online through the National site any longer). Place is roomy, has a double insulated door entrance with a 90 degree turn to keep the cold weather out and also a convenient drive thru, if you don’t want to get out of your vehicle. They also have 3 10 minute parking spots right in front, if you pre-order on the app and want to just pop in and grab your order. All pick-ups are near the entrance and categorized by order name given, so simple!

Waited 45 minutes to get my order, meanwhile I watched a dozen cars in the drive-thru go by during that time. There were a handful of people inside who have been there even longer. Meanwhile they’re making orders for people who aren’t even here to pick up yet.
If you want your drinks and food in a timely matter, look elsewhere. According to other reviews this is an ongoing issue.

I love Starbucks but for my first time visiting the Tawas location, I’m extremely disappointed! I ordered a caramel macchiato hot latte. But what I received did not taste like a caramel macchiato, more like black coffee. Not to mention the cup was not even filled 3/4 full. It had so much cream at the top, I waited for it to go down and just couldn’t believe it. What a waste of money and my time this morning.

So I will say the staff is very pleasant and will fix a mistake brought to their attention I had a little mess up today on my order and they fixed it immediately for me! And the drink was perfect, but I have had many many times where the drink is made wrong, and missing add ons. I do believe some of the staff may need more training, and definitely hire new people for the busy days, again I think more training is necessary for this business to thrive. Super clean inside, and again the employees are so nice and professional. To all of the other reviews^^^ if a order is messed up take it back and they’ll fix and keep doing that if there’s more mistakes, I don’t understand the need for customers to become enraged by a mistake that anyone can make.

Lid popped off my coffee and shot everywhere. It obviously didn’t fit and putting it into a new cup must not have been an option for staff.

Food and coffee was nice and hot, however we waited a half hour for all to come thru. The girls were very busy and nice. East Tawas is a travel destination and Sundays would be busy with visitors leaving. The girls could of used one more person.

Order a hot cinnamon dulce latte and they gave me a cold one, also ordered egg bites and after waiting 15 minutes and not be acknowledged we left with no egg bites. Very disappointed
