This is one of my favorite Starbucks to stop by on my way to work at Feldman Chrysler Dodge Jeep & RAM in Clarkston. I love the new location — it’s bright, clean, and always has such a welcoming vibe. The staff here is consistently friendly and upbeat, even during the busy morning rush. When you grab your coffee inside, you’ll notice they know many regulars by name, which makes the experience feel personal and community-driven. I usually pair my drink with a quick breakfast before heading to the dealership, and it’s always made just right. A great start to any morning!

As a former Starbucks partner, I am very disappointed. The girl on DTO, Claire, who took my order in the drive through was rude, incorrectly put in my order, and kept interrupting me mid sentence with “anything else?”. She clicked through the order so fast it closed out and I couldn’t even double check the screen to see if it was even correct, and she did not verify my drink order was correct verbally. At the window, she didn’t say a word to us, just scanned the app shut the doors and walked away for minutes, giving us my drink without saying a word. Where’s the Starbucks Connection? Where is the simple good morning and have a great day? That is bare minimum if you don’t feel like talking, treat us like a human and not like another number. The store was not even busy and when she closed the window on us after paying she just talked to another barista shooting the breeze. You don’t need to entertain me at the window, but at least acknowledge and be polite with simple quick words of kindness.

About my drink, she completely missed the pistachio cold foam, and rung it up as vanilla sweet cream cold foam. I spoke loudly and was nice when I ordered, she was just being too quick with the button pushing. Also this barista does not know how many pumps of syrup go into a cold venti beverage as I substituted sf vanilla and she typed in the incorrect number of pumps per beverage standard.

I was looking forward to this beverage all week as my one semi-sweet treat to have. I love the pistachio and was excited to have it, but this beverage she botched was not worth the calories. I didn’t have time to return to the store, and gave the beverage away. I Will not go back, this store doesn’t understand what Starbucks stands for. This girl Claire was lazy, rude, and clearly did not want to be there – seriously, disappointing.

Placed a mobile order this morning with an estimated pickup time of 5-8 minutes. I didn’t receive my order until 33 minutes later, and the store wasn’t even busy.
While waiting, I watched one employee ask to go on break, then all four employees on duty huddled around an iPad to discuss their break schedules while customer orders sat unfulfilled. There was no sense of urgency, no acknowledgment of waiting customers, and no apparent concern that drinks were piling up.
This isn’t an isolated incident. I’ve had similar experiences at this location multiple times, and it’s become clear there’s a deeper culture problem here. The staff seems disengaged and unmotivated, with little accountability for actually serving customers. There’s an attitude that breaks and personal conversations take priority over the people paying for their products. Basic work ethic and customer focus appear to be missing entirely.
For comparison, the Starbucks at Hill and Fenton is a completely different experience. Orders are ready on time, employees greet you when you walk in, and they thank you when you leave. The team there actually seems to care. None of that happens at this Saginaw Street location.
I want to support this store because it’s convenient, but until leadership addresses the culture and accountability issues, I’d recommend going elsewhere.

It’s my number one location. It’s right by my house. It’s very convenient. Every staff member works There are great their customer service it’s fantastic they always make you feel welcome. They know me by name even though sometimes I’m in and out just to grab my nonfat latte extra hot , they know my order they acknowledge every single customer. My wife and I visit this location every time we have to make our 300 mile round-trip drive to see my neurologist every month or two, even though it’s out of our way heading back home just because it’s a cozy little coffee shop with the friendliest staff and always fast service. Even though they a constant stream of customers, even in the late evening when we stop in, they always make you feel welcomed and & valued. Not once have they made an order incorrectly or failed to make us feel like we were the only customers there. For that kind of service I never have a problem with the high prices. I’m always glad that they are writing on the cups again. It was always a nice touch. And I’m glad that the chain is streamlining their menu as there was always too much and it was cluttered. Like my wife and I who always purchase a Flat White, I believe the majority of customers already have a coffee drink that they normally purchase anyway. Just an excellent location overall and I would highly recommend this location that you take the little drive there if you have the opportunity.

Busy day at this location but the baristas were amazing. They could be the Olympic coffee-making team! Great communication to get the orders out quickly and correctly. Friendly to customers and one another. Will be stopping by here again.

GrubHub and Google maps every so often will have addresses of businesses mixed up, no big… Except when the address is for the place next to Grandblanc “Starbuck’s” and the person in the drive thru happens to be , M-Y-O-P-P-I-N-I-O-N , the quintessential snob , uptight , and frigid (did I say condesending? )very unhappy Starbucks worker.
TO MANAGEMENT,
The brunette who wears hair in a bun working on Sun , Feb. 1st closing shift . May help productivity to limit cell phone use , customer service , and general friendliness as well as a refresher on customer service would not hurt staff AT ALL…

I stopped to get a sandwich and some coffee a couple of days ago. The place was fairly busy with people sitting inside and a full drive thru. I browsed through the cold case for a sandwich to pick one out. As I was picking out a sandwich, I noticed that their food display case was full of fruit flies. I estimate at least 10-15 buzzing around, some were full grown. I had to wait to speak with the staff. I inquired whether the food was made in the store. The young lady apologize for the wait stating they were short staff. She confirmed the food was made in house. I was disgusted. If the display case was full of fully grown fruit flies, I can’t imagine what the back kitchen looks like. I did not order any food and walked out disgusted.
