( Go to another Starbucks in the area)
I made the bold mistake of walking into this Starbucks on Christmas morning expecting… coffee. What I received instead was a live-action performance art piece Chaos & Coffee
Act One: I patiently stand in line while it’s busy (because, shockingly, other humans also want caffeine on Christmas). No problem as I respect people working on holidays and even tip generously. Holiday spirit, goodwill, all that jazz…
Act Two: 1st in line and 5 min waiting to order a coffee with extra milk and a hazelnut late with 1 pump of syrup. A simple request and not molecular gastronomy. Many people waiting for their drinks so we find a corner seat and wait for our name to be called. 20 min go but and somehow my coffee is made without my name, spilled all over the cup and lid, and then… I approach the staff to ask if it was mine, only to be met with attitude and my “excuse me” vanishing into the void. Waiting another minute or 2 and I approach the same person I placed the order to seek clarification before I took the coffee cup. I don’t know she responds, I called it long ago. No name, no ticket no nothing.
All the 3–4 people who ordered after me receive their drinks and move on with their lives my late still missing. The manager makes a snarky comment after a customer walks away, seeking grace from customers whose orders continue to be messed up.
So I said, it’s not the customers, it’s the attitude all your employees are displaying on their faces.
Act Three: Attitude. Confusion. Rudeness. Defensive energy like I just asked for the nuclear codes instead of my latte. Asking for grace and forgiveness but forgetting to let go of their own anger towards the boss who placed them on schedule. Then another employee jumps in, defending yet again their incompetence.
My husband kindly asks for a second cup because the first one is actively leaking like a sinking ship. This somehow triggers a cup being thrown and I am busy snappy comment…
To make matters worse another customer jumps in make to excuse the terrible service with the comment that they have to work on Christmas. Yes, I said so do doctors nurses, pilots all emergency workers, airport staff etc and somehow they manage to do their jobs without scolding the people they’re helping or paying customers.
The grand finale? I never received my latte. No option on the app to get a refund, to grade the drink or service…..
If this store’s goal was to replace caffeine with resentment and festive disappointment, congratulations, you nailed it. Will never return….
Got a flat white and it was well done.
Pretty busy location order took a few minutes.
An atypical starbucks … they just cant get the drinks order right. It’s not even worth ordering drinks. One could order WATER & get an “extra … like … a broccoli…? & arugula?! latte w/ like lettuce foam & …OMG … like an extra shot? of like a blonde espresso…?! Like totally sooo yum?! Right..?! “
“No Ice” here is the same as “A TON OF ICE” except for the anti-ICE (gov) labels, tags & innuendos everywhere. So much for “ USA, USA, USA”
