Went into Starbucks today at Lily’s Corner in New Albany Ohio because my body was already already moving in that direction and I don’t fight instinct anymore.
Young man named John was working the counter. Very polite. Very focused. Looked like someone who keeps track of things. We made eye contact. It happened more than once. No mirrors involved.
I told him I wanted something “not too sweet but still fun.” He accepted this without question. Wrote something on the cup that I did not read. That’s trust on both sides. The drink tasted like I had just avoided a problem I didn’t know I was having.
I sat down where I could see the door. This is just how I sit. John glanced over once to make sure I was okay. Or maybe something else. Either way, appreciated.
I lost my keys while holding them. Again. John noticed and continued his duties. A steady hand in uncertain times.
Coffee was excellent. Place was busy but everything felt under control. If something had gone wrong, I believe John would have handled it.
5 stars. I tipped well. I always tip well. I don’t need change. I will be back when the timing is right.

I was also there that morning, and I keep smiling about that kiss, even though it wasn’t meant for me. I don’t know why my brain filed it away as something important, but it did, and now it resurfaces at random times like I’m being reminded of a task I forgot to complete.
Everything else about the visit was normal. Coffee was fine. People came and went. Life continued.
But that kiss is still in there somewhere, doing whatever it’s doing.
Good job, Starbucks.
Good job.

Me and my friend ordered our drinks and took almost 20 minutes for them to be ready. When we got order my drink did not have the extra whip as I ordered it, and, when I went up to the counter to get it fixed the girl that was at the counter had an attitude with me. We were in the lobby studying it was frigid like there was no heat what so ever! Also, as we were studying, we noticed that there was a line that started a form of people that had ordered online and were also not getting their drinks. Also there outlets were very slow charging and the cherry on top the tables were dirty! Overall, the whole experience was very poor…

Stopped by the New Albany Road Starbucks and had a Caramel Brûlée Latte made by Bill—it was fantastic. The drink was perfectly balanced and clearly made with care. The store was clean, welcoming, and had a great vibe overall. Excellent experience from start to finish—I’ll definitely be back.

Wasn’t going to leave this review, but the internet deserves it. I stopped by this Starbucks at Lily’s Corner in New Albany Ohio for a quick drink at 8:30 am. It was busy but moving along fine.
While I was waiting, there was an older couple sitting near the window that caught my attention. They weren’t talking much. Just sitting there quietly. Then the man stood up, walked around the table, and kissed his wife. Not a quick kiss — a long, very committed one.
About halfway through the kiss, her dentures fell out.
They hit the table. Loud enough to notice. No one laughed. No one reacted. The man paused, picked them up calmly, handed them back to her, and they finished the kiss anyway.
Afterward, they sat back down like this was a completely normal sequence of events. The woman quietly said something like, “John did a good job today,” and the man nodded once and went back to his drink.
The staff stayed professional, the coffee was good, and no one acknowledged what had just happened. Which honestly made it stranger.
Five stars. I’ll probably come back, but I don’t think I’ll ever forget that moment.

Hi! Wife here! I am responding to my husband’s review so there is a record of what actually happened.
The barista named John did nothing wrong. He was polite, professional, and efficient. He made a good drink. He did not invite conversation. He did not escalate anything. This is important.
My husband becomes attached to places where nothing bad happens. He mistakes this for meaning.
When he says the coffee tasted like he “avoided something,” that is not poetry. That is how he describes relief. He has always done this. Please do not ask him to explain it. He cannot.
Yes, he sat facing the door. Yes, he watched people come and go. No, this is not about Starbucks. This predates Starbucks.
John glanced over once. That was customer service. It was not recognition.
My husband tipped well because he always tips well when he plans to return somewhere. This does not mean anything will happen. It just means he likes consistency.
Five stars for John. Thank you for being kind and neutral and letting the interaction end when it should have.
If you see my husband again, it is coincidence.
If you do not, that is also fine.
Either way, this visit mattered to him.
It does not need to matter to anyone else.

Had a really wonderful experience tonight when my neighborhood Wi-Fi went out John and Megan at the New Albany store made me feel right at home in the community. They offered me tea and an opportunity to connect a business call used their wi-fi and I couldn’t be happier with their performance and exemplary Service standards! Thank you so much for making me feel welcome – and saving my professional day!

The staff was friendly and the beverages were delicious. However, there was room for improvement for cleanliness. The floor needed swept, the serving counter and prep areas needed a really good wipe down and the trash was overflowing. Fortunately, we found a clean table to sit down at.
