Hate to do this to the new Starbucks but I put them to the test with my Caramel macchiato chocolate Carmel Drizzle made with heavy foam. Ordered one tall and one vente. So the tall had no Expresso at all so definitely a fail on the double shot. It was literally straight heavy cream. And the vente I ordered came out as a grande and had no flavor expect water and cream mixed with Expresso. The team members seem very new to the job as everyone was running around in a sort of panic during a pretty slow time. I’m honestly pretty disappointed about this location. Hopefully the team can adapt and learn to make good coffee.

My husband and I visited this location for Veteran’s Day. The policy online was AD, Veterans, and their spouses get free drinks for the holiday.

First of all, the employees were clearly a mess. They were moving slowly behind the counter during the morning breakfast rush on a holiday, and when questioned about the holiday policy were confused. I did not get a free drink—that’s fine, it’s primarily my husband’s day.
Our plan was to start the day off right with some good coffee before starting our Christmas shopping.
But, the Veteran’s Day coffee my husband ordered (which was the classic black coffee, with added oat milk) took 20 minutes longer than my peppermint mocha (which I asked for a medium and was charged for a Large… I could not have corrected this either due to the cutomers being packed in the store like sardines waiting to either complain, order, or receive their orders). By the time I received my mocha, however, it was colder than it should have been.
When reminded about my husband’s drink, they ignored my husband and gave him a straight black coffee. This mistake was not corrected.

The staff were unprofessional and not educated on holiday policy. This also seemed disrespectful to veterans—my husband sure felt disrespected. I hope we were the only ones to experience this terrible service.
My husband did not drink the coffee, as he said it tasted “gross”.

Overall, disappointed. We will not be visiting again, and will not recommend this location to visit on holidays.

I visited this Starbucks today and had multiple handcrafted drinks and food while dining in. When we asked for the free refill that Starbucks clearly advertises for in-store customers, the staff refused and said they “don’t do free refills.” We even pointed to the decals on the table that read: “Ready for a refill? Enjoy your handcrafted or brewed drink in our café and receive a free refill of hot or iced brewed coffee or tea.”

Their response was simply, “That’s not what our manager said — we only give free refills if you order a brewed coffee or tea.” It was incredibly frustrating to be denied what is openly promoted inside the store. The lack of consistency and dismissive attitude made the experience very disappointing.

This is hands down the worst Starbucks I’ve ever been to, and unfortunately, it’s consistently bad. The baristas are extremely rude and seem to have the worst training imaginable — they have zero understanding of company policies and no sense of customer service. The windows and bathrooms are always dirty, which says a lot about the overall management. To make matters worse, some employees make snide, sarcastic remarks and even publicly embarrass customers because of their own ignorance. It’s unprofessional and unacceptable. Avoid this location at all costs.

Ordered a coffee through the drive through this morning (Dec18) and every time I took a sip, I would get an overwhelming smell of hand lotion. I’m assuming one of the employees had lotion on and pressed the lid on with their whole hand. Overall unpleasant.

My caramel ribbon crunch was so nasty it wasn’t sweet, the coffee had a burnt taste, my cup wasn’t full, barely had whip cream, waited in drive thru over 15 minutes, had to ask for a straw and napkins and my receipt. I call spoke with a manager; said her name was *Alley*. Alley was extremely rude to me when i was explaining to her how my drink tasted. Alley continued to argue with me and when I said I just want my money back, she told me all they can do was remake it. I told her i was heading home on 24 to morehead city where I reside. Alley told me i had to come back up there the next day, or I wouldn’t be able to get it remade. I was off that weekend and it a long drive to jacksonville and I stop there only on my way to work, i explained to Alley. She told me well the other manager wouldn’t be able to help me b/c she wouldn’t know what I was talking about if i came up there monday morning. I thoughts they keep books on things like this. So when I came back up there the next day, I walked in and no one greeted me nor my daughter just stared. When I got my drink again it was even worse than before. I’m finished with that starbucks and just pray we get a Dunkin Donuts beside them.

I’ve come here often and never had an issue. Today was different. We had multiple people come in after us and their orders were done first. Specifically one person came in well after other people left and we were still waiting, yet her stuff was made before ours. Then when my name was called the barista made a face as if she was disgusted by the name on cup. She sets the second one down without even calling the name but turns to the woman she helped before us and starts smiling and chatting. Not sure why we were treated that way but you’re a business and a well known one. Don’t treat your customers that way.

I ordered a hot coffee with extra sweet cream and vanilla syrup. My coffee barely had any cream and there was no syrup added. The lid was also cracked and leaked all over my shirt. So I went back and asked for a remake. I was informed that the coffee machine was down and they offered to substitute with an Americano. I was then handed an iced brown sugar oat milk shaken espresso. This was in inappropriate substitute for my original drink. Over all a frustrating experience. I’m constantly having my drinks made wrong at this location that I’m going to start avoiding it and just go to the swansboro location.
