I would like to do a double take on this Starbucks in Potomac Village. I want to applaud the two workers working on the 7-9pm shift who saved me from a really really bad client. I almost lost it because a client decided to underpay me because I didn’t cheat for her daughter. They made a white mocha latte that was perfect and their kindness was duly noted. Starbucks manager need to stop abusing their employees. Service workers has it bad already. They deserve more.

PS: Starbucks is not getting any of my money. This “Supervisor” Odke whatever her name is decided to make me leave the store using Starbucks’ buy or leave policy when no one has ever reinforced it in the store and I have been coming to this store for months and years. She tells me she basically has been watching the other customer since the morning as he comes in to get coffee. I swear you have a crazy supervisor who literally stalks their customers to make sure they pay for coffee and when I tell her about how the “rule” doesn’t always apply because I have been to the store plenty of times without buying things and no one not even the manager says a thing. This woman went on a power trip because I have never seen her before because she is new. She started arguing with me when I was trying to tell her what I observed and she told me to talk to the district manager. She basically said there’s only two customer at that time and decided to make me leave becuase it was “obvious” – what I OBVIOUSLY noticed is that she stalked me for like 30 minutes because it took her 30 minutes to reinforce the so-called policy to make sure I am not buying. What if I decided to buy a drink after I finished my book and chips because I got thirsty. I am pretty sure they hired a bad worker becuase the good one I mentioned above left and that is so sad, Izzy, was so nice.

Also, they completely changed the sizes but same price. Medium is the new large.

I went in to get a small coffee with room for cream, went over to the sugar area and noticed there were no sugars and no brown sugars but plenty of poison packets in green and yellow. So I asked the girl making the espresso if I could have some brown sugar packets and she indicated that they were out of brown sugar and regular sugar and that she was so sorry. I wonder why somebody didn’t walk 30 feet to Safeway to buy packets at 8 o’clock in the morning on a Tuesday. Foolish!

I come here a lot to do some reading and work, and the new renovation looks nice but feels off. There isn’t as many outlets available so I need to look out for the three seats that come with outlets. No more mini library basket they used to have with books that came from donations. They started giving you refills on some coffee and teas and use dine-in mugs but it feels more like a bribe than actual improved customer service. Their new policy of trying to connect with customers actually makes me want to run away. Greetings are super impersonal and automatic. Everyone feels more like robots. You go to this Starbucks – you get to use the bathroom, sit, but not able to ask for water. Another one, you can’t use the bathroom or get water. And some they don’t care and you can use the bathroom and get water with no one hawking at you to ask if you paid for a drink. I might as well pay for water and bathroom with cash just to get the same consistently. No one actually cares about homeless people causing safety concerns; just a ruse to keep profits by Starbucks.

Great staff. Not nearly enough seating. Always a worry that there won’t be a seat when I go to work or meet a friend. Poor use of the space .

Had to pay an extra $4 to get them to make a cappuccino. They literally gave me a glass of hot milk and made me pay extra to put coffee in it.

I love this Starbucks! The people working are always very kind, the drinks are always on time, and they are always of a great quality! Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting, and it is great for both take-out and sitting inside, with wifi, plenty of seats, and a cozy atmosphere. There are also loads of stores to visit, and I highly recommend coming here for coffee!

The service is slow and the place smells like mildew. Should definitely be managed by a more attentive crew. The manager says the smells could be coming from the sink or oven. Oh boy.

This location was over staff and one register open. Waited almost 10 minutes for a coffee and lemon pound cake. This location charges tip automatically when it should give the option when paying .I was at a different location hours before and it gives you the option of the percentage to tip.

Everything this great about this place – but the consistency of drinks at this Starbucks. The location, nestled in the middle of Potomac Village and sitting in a large courtyard, provides ample space. The service is what you’d expect from Starbucks, however, the consistency of drinks simply isn’t there. Perhaps because not only is there no Starbucks around for miles (I know – that’s shocking), but there isn’t any other coffee/meeting place around either. So, this place is busy – we all have nowhere else to go.
It has a captive market so perhaps that’s why the drinks are up and Down. Please note – the drinks aren’t always bad, but the % of times l’ve had a bad drink here is much higher than any other Starbucks I’ve been too.
