My team and I frequent this Starbucks everyday, and Eric (the GOAT) welcomes us with open arms every time!! However, our most recent trip was everything but welcoming. A staff member requested that I leave my dog outside when picking up my drinks, which is totally fine although that hasn’t been asked in the 2 years that we’ve been going there. In fact, I’ve been explicitly told by multiple workers that it is absolutely okay for me to bring my dog in (other people bring their dogs in as well) as long as he is well behaved. She was rude about it, and to make matters worse, a teammate of mine walked in after me (she’s white, I am not) with her dog, and the workers said nothing to her about it. While inside, our teammate heard the workers loudly complaining about how me and my two other teammates (all black) were being “obnoxious and blocking the door”. For context, we were sitting at the outdoor tables that Starbucks provides, not blocking the door whatsoever, and also not being “obnoxious”. We were simply drinking our beverages and having conversation. Another worker came out and told me that my dog could not be “on the chair”. He was in my lap. My dog is well trained and does not disturb anyone, quite frankly he lays down and sleeps while we eat outside. My teammates dog was in her lap as well, but nothing was said of that. These events felt deeply discriminatory, as their only complaints were directed at people of color with no basis. Eric was not there today, however I do not that he would not stand for the service that we received today.

DO NOT GO TO THIS STARBUCKS!!!!! horrible customer service! This guy was arguing back and forth with me about ordering! He yelled at me in front of everyone. I wondered why Starbucks in college park downsized and now I know. Poor customer service. I’m very concerned that they will hire just anyone these days. I’ve been coming to this exact location for 8 years now and not once have I experienced this kind of service

When I realized I had sent my mobile order to the wrong location, you are very accommodating and called the other location and told them about my mix-up and fulfilled my order at College Park location. The staff is very friendly that morning. I truly appreciate your help on. we all know every great day starts with Starbucks!

Eric is the best! He has the Starbucks College Park running like a well oiled machine. With all the chaos during school time, my orders still come out timely and fresh with a smile. I highly recommend this location. Some people may not like the rules there but they are much needed to keep things flowing and comfortable for everyone. When I’m in that area that’s my spot.

i feel like it’s time for someone to do something about this store manager. i walked in with a friend at 5am to do work, and within 3 minutes of sitting down, he asked if we’d be ordering anything because it is the store policy. we gave him a funny look, because it’s 5am, we just sat down, and we couldn’t even order on the app before coming in because it was so early. he told us to not “start with all that” because it was “store policy” and “once we sit down we agree to that policy.” He proceeded to follow up not once but twice about whether or not we’d order and whether we were ordering in store or on the mobile app. Mind you, the store is empty, it’s 5am, and we don’t know why we’re being rushed. He was rude for literally no reason and gave us attitude which I find extremely unprofessional as a store manager. Also, there are so many bad reviews about him. Most establishments terminate someone’s employment after they receive several bad reviews or complaints. What is the hold up?

Avoid this location if you care about customer service. I am not sure if they are taking the time to properly train these employees – majority of them are students from UMD campus. And it is clear that they have never had to treat anyone that comes in there with respect or kindness.

Bryan the barista needs training with customers. Walked in just now to pick up my mobile order and was served coffee and Sas. I would have just preferred a coffee hold the sas. Unfortunate they should train there staff alitlle better. They all seemed stressed and tense

I came in towards the middle of the day so the establishment was a bit crowded, however thanks to the barista named Christine my experience was great. She was helpful and kind when taking my order, I was unsure of what I really wanted, so she recommended me a drink she thought I would like based off her questioning my likes and dislikes for beverages. I ended up loving the drink!

Do not go to this Starbucks!!! I was sitting at a table for 2 hours when all the sudden I was kicked out by the owner because I hadn’t purchased anything. He claimed it was “his” Starbucks and he could enforce the rule, but I have never experienced this at any other Starbucks before. Very rude considering this is a town of college students who go to Starbucks as a place to get work done.
