I usually don’t leave reviews, but the Atlantic Highlands Starbucks staff are fantastic. Linda gave excellent recommendations and was genuinely kind.

Secretly Swallowtails
This Starbucks is so clean, relaxing, and very calming when you walk in. The environment is spacious with ample areas to sit indoors as well as outdoors. I always order ahead and never once have I had an error with any order. My coffees are made the same and perfect each time and my food is always warm. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

After mobile ordering my drinks and food, the female barista (curly black hair) was looking at a lady behind me calling MY name, trying to hand her the brownie and croissant I ordered. She looked past me as if I were not even there.
But since it was MY name being called I said yes and said I will take it. She then squinted and asked me “YOU’RE Tara?”
As if I was lying and trying to take someone else’s order?
It was extremely offensive. I’m not sure if this is because I am Asian and my name is a more white name? But quite frankly, it felt very racist.
No apologies and no acknowledgement of her assumption/judgment. Worst I’ve ever felt at a Starbucks, and I’m from the city and have been to a ton of starbucks in a lot of different states.
It’s 2025. This is NJ. Please train your baristas better manners. Unbelievable.

**Updated review, they seem to have gotten it together. Much better than it used to be. Very mid. The employees are super friendly which I appreciate, but it’s consistently inconsistent here. If I could just get ONE drink made properly here I’d be happy, but I think I need to take a break. Light ice means not as much ice. A pink drink is supposed to be a blend of strawberry acai and coconut milk (which makes the drink a creamy pink), two scoops of strawberries is one more than the normal one. Not sure why they can’t get this right. Starbucks is so ridiculously overpriced anyway, but sigh.
