Im not usually someone to complain, it takes quite a lot. I understand they are busy, its the only starbucks in the tiny Freeport town and mistakes happen.
But this seems to be a consistent thing.
Food is good but the drinks need work.
The workers are not listening to whats being ordered. Ive had hot drinks served cold, kids temp served at nuclear temps and Every. Single. Time, regardless of temp, the cup is never filled properly.
They always leave a good inch of the cup not filled.
I understand leaving some room for the foam but this is too much. As well as they are very clearly skimping on the flavoring. Drinks taste watery and flavorless.
This coming from a cafe barista and manager of 10 years.

Worker slammed the drive thru door in our face twice. Gave us a nasty look when all we did was ask for two straws. She also only gave us one straw and then slammed the sliding door at us. We gave up at that point and drove off. I understand having a bad day but you don’t treat customers like that. It was very rude and unprofessional.

Honestly the worst Starbucks in the greater Rockford area. They decide how they want to make drinks on a daily basis instead of following their mandated recipes or simple to follow drink orders. Mind you I go to Starbucks everyday. I know what my drink looks and tastes like. They constantly mess up. And when you go to correct it. They’ll mess it up again. And when I let the manager know I’d rather have a refund than drink whatever it is they decide I’ll have today she looks at me like im trying to scam them. I probably spend more money there than she does so she has no right to snatch drinks and act like paying customers are in the wrong when they are messing up at every step. And- upon giving me a refund- she gave me less than my order was worth, essentially stealing from me. So if you have an issue with this location, call corporate and then stop going. They’ll waste your time gas and money and pretend like they’re not at fault for not doing their jobs correctly.

Drinks are not consistent. It used to be my favorite place to get coffee but not now. I’ve called manager and excuse is they have new employees. This is for months now. It should be done right when you’re paying almost $10 for specialty coffee.Ive been disappointed a lot lately

I went through the drive through on 9/24/23 at approximately 9am. I ordered a small coffee and a bag of medium roast coffee. The total was slightly over $16. I paid with a $10 gift card and the rest in cash. I was not provided a receipt. I went on my way with my delicious cup of coffee.
The next morning, I went to make a pot of coffee and noticed the coffee I was provided with was Decaf. Not a huge deal; my fault for not specifying I wanted caffeinated coffee. However, when I went to open the bag I noticed that IT HAD ALREADY BEEN OPENED! I knew something wasn’t right when there were coffee grounds stuck to the inside of the clear tape holding the back closed. Upon opening it further, the adhesive (aka freshness seal) was not intact at all. The bag had been previously opened.
Later that day, my wife took the bag back explaining the situation and was told that since we didn’t have a receipt, nothing could be done. I’m disappointed in myself for not double checking my order before leaving, but I’m more disappointed that Starbucks provided me with a previously used bag of decaf coffee. Things I learned from my Freeport Starbucks experience: 1) Always ask for a receipt on a coffee order, 2) Specify that you would like caffeinated coffee, 3) Double check your order at Starbucks before leaving the drive up window.

I’m very disappointed with the service here recently. I placed an order on the app the other day and was told my order would take 5-8 minutes, I knew I had a 7 minute drive there from my workplace so I figured that should give them plenty of time especially if there is a line, like there usually is. I got an update stating my order was ready before I had gotten there and told the girl at the window I placed a mobile order. She proceeded to have an attitude stating “It looks like you just placed that order, our app has a new update and it informs you of when it’s ready” I told her the app says it would take 5-8 minutes and I placed the order more than 5 minutes ago and it says its ready on the app. She then told me to pull up to the window and then didn’t say a single word to me at the and slammed the window closed after handing me my drinks. I have been coming to this Starbucks since it has opened in Freeport and for the last month I’ve gone pretty much everyday and have had awful experiences almost everytime.

There was no reason to be rude about me doing a mobile order. I ordered and went through the drive through and they made sure to tell me they hadn’t worked on it but would get it started. and that they would do it this one time early but next time I had to wait. Why would it take 15 minutes to make an iced tea….needless to say I certainly will not be returning. Which is a shame because I used to go every single day.
