I adore and love this Indian cuisine, been a customer many years, I dropped off the radar of ordering in honesty over 12 months ago… only because we were eating out more and trying to give other takeaways a foot in the door, but have to honestly say that no Indian restaurant or takeaway in harrogate comes close to Starbeck tandoori.. just amazing! I came across this restaurant while out walking the dog and could smell it from down the street. Of course my nose took over and wanted to find out where it was coning from.
Went the other evening, we recieved a warm welcome and seated straight away, the staff were brilliant and attentive and if Indian/tandoori food is what you seek I can highly recommend!

I’m confident this is the best quality curry in Harrogate. Not the most stylish by a long chalk but it’s all about the food here and I cannot fault it.

Popadoms tasted a week old definitely not fresh on the day. Then ordered tandoori mixed grill which again tasted like it had been warmed
up from the day before. Also a tandoori chicken tikka that was dry as a bone. Keema Nam had no flavour.. Overall very disappointing!

Starbeck Tandoori is a great local spot that’s well worth a visit. It’s only a short walk away and there’s plenty of parking around the area, which makes popping in really easy whether you’re local or just passing through.

The food is packed with flavour and the portions are generous, especially for the price. On our visit we ordered a mixed starter to share, two curries, naan bread, rice, and two drinks — all for £55, which felt very reasonable for the amount and quality of food.

Everything came out hot and full of flavour. The curries were rich and well-spiced without being overpowering, and the naan and rice were perfect alongside them. The mixed starter was a great way to begin the meal, with a good variety and plenty to share.

The staff were polite and welcoming, adding to the relaxed atmosphere of the place.

Overall, Starbeck Tandoori is a solid local favourite: tasty food, good portions, friendly service, and great value. Definitely somewhere we’d happily return to.

The worst curry I’ve ever had!
The starter of chicken pakora had no taste to it , soggy batter and very little chicken filling! Very poor.
My main course of chicken balti was just about bearable to eat but left a very bitter taste. The chicken was like tough leather and swimming in oil. A very unpleasant experience.
