The staff was welcoming, the ambiance pleasant, and the service excellent. However, the prices felt high for the portion sizes.
The $21 martini was served in a very small glass with barely any content. The $18 poke bowl had undercooked rice and included only a few slices of orange and avocado, cucumber, and spicy salmon.
Coming from Montreal, Quebec, it’s hard not to compare, as we’re accustomed to higher-quality offerings at similar price points. I would have expected the poke bowl to be more generously garnished—perhaps with edamame, carrots, bell peppers, or mango.
Additionally, none of the sushi options were priced under $17.

Big sushi eaters here… Our first experience was AMAZING! Service was wonderful and the food did not disappoint us. Appetizers- we did the crab rangoons 10/10, gyoza 10/10, and tuna crisp 100/10 (pictured). So fresh! For sushi rolls (pictured)- we did the Tokyo Drift 10/10, Red Hot Chili Pepper 10/10, and Crazy Roll 10/10. They were all great, zero complaints. We also tried the Star Fried Rice, which is served in a half cut pineapple. Verryyyy good! Can’t go wrong there. Two others at my table got the Massaman curry with chicken and said it was delicious. Poke bowl also looked amazing. We aren’t local, but if we were we’d be revisiting often!

Inattentive service. We waited 20 minutes for a server to come to our table, other guests seated after us were served first. We finally had to go find a server to take our order. Tattered, torn chairs. Water from who knows where all over the floor. Very dark. The atmosphere is a turn off. The food was unappetizing. Example: The chicken satay were odd size pieces, some with skin, some without. It seemed like random leftover pieces of meat. If you like white meat, you are in for a disappointment, as they don’t offer it in any of their dishes. Example: The sampler platter appetizer (listed on the menu as “for two”) was a miniature appetizer. It included 3 each of the world’s smallest egg rolls, battered shrimp and crab rangoons. It is a platter for 2, so why 3 of everything? And at $19.95, incredibly overpriced. Needless to say, we did not stay for dinner.

I visited this place a while ago, and overall, it was a great experience. The service was fantastic—staff were attentive, friendly, and quick to accommodate our needs. The atmosphere was pleasant, with a relaxed vibe that made the meal even more enjoyable.
As for the food, everything we tried was delicious. The sushi was fresh and beautifully presented, but the rice could have been a bit more flavorful. That said, it didn’t detract too much from the meal as the rest of the ingredients were spot on. If you’re looking for solid sushi and excellent service, I’d definitely recommend this place!

The food was yummy but not absolutely excellent. It was somewhere between a 4 and 4.5. The hamachi appetizer was great, the specialty roll, spicy tuna and Mexican roll were also good but not great. When we realized there was another menu, which the server didn’t advise, we ordered stir fry with ginger and garlic that was really yummy. I would love to give it a 5 because the presentation was well done. The server was very nice but not pro active and aware as much as you would hope. Again overall a good experience and with some fine tuning could be a 5.

GO HERE!!! When booking our reservation, one of our friends told the restaurant that we were all celebrating our engagement and they made the night sooo special for us! Special shoutout to Golf. He was wonderful and brought so much joy and laughter to our evening! The food and drinks were all incredible as well! Will definitely be back!!!

If you’re vacationing in Siesta Key and you don’t visit this sushi spot, you’re seriously missing out. My wife and I, all the way from Ohio, make a pilgrimage here a couple of times a year, and it never disappoints. The Sarasota Roll is so incredible, it might just redefine your sushi standards. The Black Dragon? It’s a flavor bomb that’s out of this world. And don’t even think about leaving without trying the Kai Sen Don—skipping it would be a crime against your taste buds.
This last visit was extra special as we were celebrating our 10-year anniversary. The staff went above and beyond, making our celebration truly memorable in the sweetest way. Shoutout to our amazing server, Peat—he was attentive, friendly, and made our experience even better. I rarely leave reviews, but this place is so exceptional that I HAD to share my experience. We’re already looking forward to our next trip to not only enjoy the fantastic food but also hit up the karaoke. With such a lovely staff and unbeatable food, this place sets the bar so high, you won’t find better anywhere in Sarasota or Siesta Key. Do yourself a favor: come here, eat, and thank me later.

What an amazing place! The sushi and Tom Yum soup were fantastic, but the true stars of this establishment are their amazing staff. Trumpet serenades, sake bombs and more created a memorable experience and well worth a return visit!!!
