We ordered 3 things off of the menu. Two of the things we ordered didn’t come with the things that were listed on the menu. We were not asked about a vegetable or soup that said came with our entree, we were only asked if we wanted fries. The appetizers are okay, they definitely tasted like typical diner food. The menu mentioned pierogies but we didn’t not get any pierogies. The potato skins were good. I wish things came with sauces. No bbq for the chicken tenders and no marinara for the mozzarella sticks. The patty melt I ordered came with NO sauce, so it was very dry. It was mostly onions with a thin patty. We would have asked the waitress for sauces, but after she dropped our food off she literally disappeared. A while after waiting for the check, the hostess brought it out. We think our waitress clocked out with nobody covering our table and she didn’t mention that she was leaving. Overall, everything was dry and either the waitress need training on the menu or the menu needs to be modified to be more accurate. We also didn’t receive a pizza menu and didn’t realize we could order pizza, which is what we wanted to try. We will likely return in the future to give them another try, but after a long time has passed and hopefully everyone gets trained properly.

Enjoyed an amazing dinner tonight! Barry got the beef tips and noodles . Loved the suace and the tips were so tender!
I got the black diamond steak and crab cake meal. The steak was done to perfection. Medium Rare and nicely seared in tbe oustide! Unlike any other “diner” steak!!
We will definitely be going back! Great prices too!
And our waitress Aimee was awesome too!

Party of 6. 4 Adults and 2 children. My mom ordered soup she ate the whole bowl she said it was the best soup she has ever had out to eat. My dad ordered the chefs salad it was huge and he said it was absolutely fantastic. My husband who is firm believer in if it’s a good cooked steak you don’t need any sauce made me try a piece of his steak because it was juicy, perfectly cooked as ordered medium well, and seasoned perfectly. We called the owner over to tell her to make sure she tells the cook how perfectly it was done. Most of the faces you’ll see are familiar from another diner near by we loved seeing those faces again. They said they are treated very well there. I believe the slow reviews that we have seen prior to our visit is because they naturally cook your food which is a nice change compared to the normal diner food which is usually expected to be just heated up and a weight cooked steak. My kids and I don’t eat much I got a grilled cheese very good as well and my boys ate all of their food fried shrimp and chicken fingers. Also usually when the six of us go out who ever pays is usually guaranteed around $120 bill but tonight when we got our bill for the six of us it was $90. Definitely told them we approve and told them to look out for our good review.

I really wanted this place to be good since it’s so close to us. We ordered the special for takeout: 1 large plain pizza and 2 Italian subs. We were told 30-35 mins on the phone which was when we got there. Seemed to be a mix up and was told 2 more minutes which turned into more like 10. That’s fine, things happen- especially could be busy for a Friday night. When we got home though, the pizza was cold and seemed a bit burnt. It was cold outside, but the drive is only about 2 minutes so it couldn’t have gotten that cold so fast. The subs were smaller than expected, not a lot of meat and also no mayonnaise. Hopefully with some time things will improve but it will be awhile until we return. I was really looking forward to fulfilling some pregnancy cravings and was a let down.

My husband and I had dinner at Star City Diner in Shoemakersville, and we were blown away! My husband is an extremely picky eater — he’s a fantastic cook himself and makes an amazing chicken fettuccine Alfredo at home. Until now, he’s never found a restaurant version that even came close… but Star City finally did it. Their chicken Alfredo was flavorful, creamy, perfectly seasoned, and honestly the best we’ve ever had at a restaurant. It completely exceeded our expectations!
We also had the soup to start, and it was incredible — so fresh and full of flavor. To finish, we shared a slice of apple pie, and it was absolutely delicious. Warm, perfectly spiced, and the ideal end to a great meal.
From start to finish, the food was outstanding. We’re so impressed and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend! ️

Five star service, zero star food. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and I felt a little bad for her because she was trying so hard to make up for the terrible food and her coworkers. Started with the salad bar. Very small and the lettuce looked suspect. I checked the cucumber and decided to veto the whole thing because they where slimy. There where no croutons even offered on the bar. Lettuce, green pepper, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, cheese, and cucumber and a few pickled options. While we where waiting for the food we heard someone yelling at the staff in the kitchen. So much so that the three other people in the place as well as the staff all got silent. The food came out quickly and was very hot but very little taste. With the exception of the corn. It tasted rancid. Brought this to the waitress attention and she and the other staff tasted some and agreed. Our bill was discounted but I have a hard time trusting that my food will be up to par if I return. Slimy cumbers and bad corn was enough for us. We will not be waisting our time in a second chance. I hope the waitress finds a more secure position somewhere else because she was the only good thing about this place. Just seems like corners are cut. Like the missing tiles on the tops of all the windows and the lightbulbs that burnt out.

We went on Saturday 2/21 which was our second time there. It took 45 minutes for our food to come which was mediocre. We observed the manager Andrea doing absolutely nothing with managing except giving out leis & shamrock necklaces to the employees. The kitchen needed to be managed cuz people were waiting a long time for their food. If Gordon Ramsay would have walked in at that moment he would have teared into Andrea for not managing. We won’t be back for awhile hopefully things get better cuz it’s going against the waitresses.

Went here for Valentine’s Day , My wife and I both had the broiled seafood combo , salad bar was almost empty , scallops and shrimp were way over broiled, tough and unedible. Told the waitress and all she did was apologize never said anything to the manager and nothing was ever done , The woman checking us out asked if everything was okay, we told her about the food she asked if we told our server we said yes and that was it nothing was done , makes me think they were told not to report things like that. Couldn’t even offer a free dessert. We drove 30 miles to eat there , what a mistake , we will never go back.

1st let me address all the negative reviews, you people obviously have NO clue about starting or operating a business!! It takes time, lots of time to work out the “bugs”!!!
We were there this morning 11/01/25. We found the place to have been very nicely renovated, the food was good, the service was good, the prices were certainly fair and the place was packed. My 1st observation was there are way too many tables which makes it very difficult for the servers and customers to maneuver, they could easily lose 6 or 7 tables, which would greatly improve the space to better help the servers and therefore make happier customers. Just because you have 20+ tables and multiple booths doesn’t mean that you need to fill them all especially when you only have 3 or 4 servers on. I’m sure the owner will figure it out as they go. He seems like a very nice gentleman. We will definitely go back. Looking forward to trying it out for lunch soon.

My wife and I decided to give dinner a try tonight.
Out server Kaylee was wonderful, she was friendly and checked on us multiple to see if we needed anything. My wife had the potato soup and she said it was excellent, and I had the chicken and shrimp lomein with soup and salad bar. The lomein flavors were excellent, there was a ton of chicken, shrimp and veggies in it. If i were to critique it, I would just say the chicken was a tad over cooked but the entire meal was very good!! I would certainly order it again!! Great job Kaylee and staff!!

Food was terribly bland and the quality wasn’t there. It’s really hard to ruin breakfast, it was edible, but I could have made better quality, better tasting food at home. The bacon was cold and didn’t even taste like bacon…which is disturbing. I know it’s new, but they should be putting their best foot forward to draw regulars in. If I could offer advice, I’d say 1. Get a better food supplier 2. Find better cooks 3. Make a smaller menu with the staple meals. Typically when a restaurant has too much on their menu, their quality isn’t great. Also, not to nit-pick, but…the menu has several spelling errors and clearly wasn’t proofed before sending to print.
The owner has good intentions, but she took on more than she could handle for long-term growth. I know what it looked like before, so all of the renovations she did inside look much better than the previous owners did. But the focus appears to be more on the esthetic, and not on quality food. One more thing…the booths are WAAAAY too close to the tables. Anyone with ene a slight stomach will have a hard time feeling comfortable with the spacing.
