Would I return? Yes

Traveling thru, I needed a meal for the evening, and of the limited restaurants that showed up in my search results, most were Mexican; and I didn’t want Mexican – that can be had in nearly any township. I opted for this little place on the square’s peripheral.

The building is an old 1890s ish structure, and the interior is from yesteryear, also….kinda neat! Very unassuming, though.

I was promptly greeted and served!

I ordered the Pasta Carbonara; it was nice and very sizeable portion!

This restaurant does NOT ACCEPT CARDS “cash” only or maybe check.

Travelers beware!! We were stuck here for an hour and a half.

Restaurant was nearly empty, server told us our burger and sandwich would be “right out”. It took over an hour to get our food. Server was oblivious – she even paused halfway to our table to chat with another group with our food in her hands. There’s one guy cooking, and they’re fulfilling to go orders as well.

The food was delicious, but including the time it took to walk across the street to the ATM, this was an hour and a half of frustration, way too much time added to our 6 hour drive, and time taken away from visiting our family. Go to DQ and leave this place for the locals.

Beau is working the kitchen, cooking up a storm. We loved the kabob and hot roast beef sandwich!
The place has a nice hole in the wall/ small town feel with good food. I appreciated that it wasn’t too greasy and had generous portions.
Loved the chocolate merengue pie!

This is the best place in Comanche, Texas to eat. The service was excellent and the chicken fried steak is one of the best in the state. Large portions and cooked fresh.

I really don’t enjoy giving back bad reviews, Monday night isn’t a good time to go to Star Beau’s. We ordered Chicken Fried steak, It was too hard to eat, Partial Burnt, ordered okra, it was burnt, Bread came out burnt and hard, French fries tasted bad,
Beau, the ( chef)said next time don’t order hard food, I Didn’t know chicken fried steaks were supposed to be Burnt and Hard,!
All this for $35.
There’s not going to be a Next Time with His Attitude, I wasn’t asking for it to be free, maybe a discount, But Star Beau’s is needing work on inside, moldy sagging Ceiling , an owner needs attitude adjustment

We stopped by for lunch and were very pleased with our meal. Homemade chicken salad on a great sourdough bun and a club sandwich on a French roll. All very fresh and large portions. We opted for coconut pie for dessert and my husband said it was the best he had ever tasted! Friendly service, too. Don’t let the look of the place deceive you… the food is good.

One of the places I would stop by when I worked in the area for a good burger. They also always have homemade pies on hand and are generous with their portions. If you’re passing through or visiting just be aware that they don’t take card.

stumbled across this place while passing through Comanche on a recent trip. it’s a small place with an old time feel. i had a chicken fried steak with gravy, fried okra and fresh tomato slices served with toasted buttered bread. everything was freshly made, nice & hot and crispy. the steak was homemade, not the frozen type. I ended with a slice homemade chocolate meringue pie…oh my goodness it was delicious. I left happily miserfull. would definitely stop here again. sorry I didn’t think to take pictures
