Grew up in the area but never ate there. They were closing and everyone was losing their minds over it so I figured wow I must’ve missed something my whole life. It was a big let down. It is bar pie pizza. People call it thin crust which is your typical NJ pizzeria pizza. This is not thin crust although definitely a paper thin crust but not typical pizzeria pizza. They say a large is for two which I could see but an average adult could easily eat he whole pie in one sitting that’s how thin it is. While it was not horrible I definitely would not go out of my way to get it again. If you never tried it you can’t as they are permanently closed. The place has tons of great reviews. I don’t think it was necessarily for the food I think it was more about the atmosphere and the memories people shared there that made it special. In a state that has a pizzeria literally on every corner of every type style and kind you definitely can’t give this place a high rating.

Ordered a plain well done pizza and it was amazing!. Thin crust, crunchy, and good tasting sauce! I usually add garlic powder, oregano, and red pepper to all my pizza that I eat, that’s what you see on the left pizza picture. I’ve also had the sausage and pepperoni pies and they are phenomenal! Love the crumbled sausage pie the best when a plain pie just doesn’t cut it for the night. Cash only! Get the pizza WELL DONE or you’ll regret it! Pizza is a little over priced for the size I think. During dinner hours give them 45-1hour for pick up time or you’ll be waiting; they get super busy because their hours are horrible and only open for dinner hours.
Edit: Adding a pepperoni pie picture to the review that was just

I had really high expectations going into this Pizzeria. I have been waiting a long time since they have different hours than most places. Make sure you bring Cash because its Cash only. Also, parking can be tricky. They do have a parking lot, but it is a busy place and with the Bar, the spots are occupied for longer peiords of time. First, the Customer Service was good, people were friendly. I was the fiirst customer of the day on a Thursday 4:30 pm. The Pizza was ok, but i thought it was overpriced at $15.75 fro a small personal Pizza. There is no way that you are getting a that return with the ingredients used for the Pizza. The Suasgae was diced up into many little peices and mixed with the cheese, which did not lend to a great pizza presentation. Though, it seemed to blend together ok with the slice itself which was an average Bar Pizza on this particular Visit. 2 Judges for Pizza Hunters App loved it while 2 others gave it an average grade.

My cousins and I ordered mozzarella sticks they were nice and hot and cheesy. Also ordered a pepperoni pizza and a double cheese pizza. Let’s just say we didn’t have any leftovers. Service was great, it’s a nice atmosphere with top notch food. Definitely a top ten place for pizza for me definitely would go again

A staple in the neighborhood that goes back….waaaay back. My grandmother went here over 50 years ago. Staying power like that in a changing neiborhood is not by accident.
What we had: Two, 14″ pizzas for 3 people and a toddler. (We finished it….just the right amount).
Note: You cannot order slices….only full pies.
The pizza comes in one size (14″). It’s very thin and it’s very easy to polish off 3-4 slices. Personally as an average dude with an average appetite I could probably finish a whole pie if I was very hungry (8 slices).
Taste: Unique….truly. A little sweet and tangy, and generally crisp bottom from end to end. The cheese forms all these little bunches (see pic). You never take a bite and have half the slices’ cheese slide off. We found this great for our 3 year of daughter, who could easily eat it without making a mess. It’s average on oil….doesn’t eat ‘heavy’ or ‘greasy’.
The place is Frozen in time appearance wise, which I love. Same wallpaper, same booths, same lighting. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. The place oozes old time neighborhood charm and character. If not for the fact that it’s usually busy, you would swear you discovered it.
Really tasty pizza with character and history….it’s a winning combo with the funky name (Stan Chitch’s).

Excellent pizza.l with a super thin crust. You must try the sausage and pepperoni pies. Its is a local dive bar with excellent food. A little pricey which is why 4 stars.

End of an era, you were on my list and didn’t disappoint! The coolest part about this place is the bar atmosphere on 1 side and family old school restaurant on the other.. think of Cheers if the made pizza too! Only sad i didn’t go sooner.

Truly honest review from a foodie! The last of the old school places!! Hands down one of the best plain pies!! Sausage/peppers pie is 7.7 of 10!

This is a feel good type of place. The pizza is perfectly made. The simple menu is just perfect for anyone looking for a old school Italian food. The prices are extremely reasonable and the service is great. The owner really takes care of her customers, she actually took off a pie from our bill because the waitress forgot to place the order with the kitchen. We did not complain because we understand things happen but the owner proactively rectified it by gifting us the pie. I highly recommend you try this restaurant out, make it a beer an pizza type of night. You won’t regret it.
