★★★★ Skirt Steak Dreams!

If you’re looking for a great steak spot in Coronado, this is it. Seriously, the skirt steak was one of the best I’ve had in a long, long time. So good. We also got the French onion soup and it was delicious—really flavorful and cheesy, but not too salty like they can sometimes be. The staff was great, too. They were always there when you needed them but didn’t interrupt our conversation. Definitely going back!

Did the Valentine’s Day pre fix for 2 last weekend and left disappointed. The pre fixed menu was altered to remove items that were on it when I booked the reservation. (The seared A5 appetizer specifically). After letting our server know she giggled and said “that’s so weird” and offered no explanation. Furthermore, the ahi carpaccio was not available in lieu of the A5 as they had run out so they offered a sea bass carpaccio which I was then later told they were also out of. So I ended up with a salad. Spent over $600 on two people here for a steak and salad each with drinks. Steak was good but feel a bit bait and switched at the price point. To be out of 3 different first courses at 7pm on a pre fixed menu felt slimy. I don’t typically leave reviews about anything, but I definitely felt burned here. This restaurant has a ton of potential, the food we did receive was good but not what I had envisioned eating when I originally booked.

Attached a photo of the menu I thought we were getting.

Like some reviewers, I have been to many a fancy steakhouse. This place is heads and shoulders above the rest. The attention to detail, the quality of every little thing, and the overall experience were very memorable. While it may seem silly to some, they even let you choose your own steak knife from a well-curated selection. The drink and wine list might be around 50 pages, but they have some gems for reasonable prices if you know what to look for. Yes, they also have wines for many hundreds or thousands of dollars, but they have something for everyone. The sommelier Andrea was very professional, attentive, yet friendly and approachable.

Our server Courtney did an excellent job. When asked about the vegetable sides, she recommended the brussels sprouts. They were perhaps the best brussels I have had, and I am a huge fan of them in general. Courtney was so friendly and yet so professional.

The steak was of course top quality, as was the bone marrow appetizer, the pear salad, and the wagyu pappardelle pasta.

Yes, it was not an inexpensive meal. However, I have sometimes been disappointed by meals half this price. We were not disappointed in the slightest with the value proposition presented by Stake Chophouse. Everything about it was a cut above.

A fabulous restaurant and memorable experience. I was very impressed with the high level of service, attentiveness, and quality. Ordered the A5 wagyu and it was out of this world! Although the steak was remarkable, personally selecting our knives was so much fun —felt like we were in a Harry Potter movie choosing our wands. Each knife was handcrafted with a meaningful story. The entire meal was magical and unique.

amazing experience we went last night for my friends birthday- the waiter and managers were so sweet, the food was delicious and we ordered off the happy hour menu so it was 5 star food at an affordable price.. my friends were drinking wine and they gave them free glasses a few times. We also got a free huge delicious slice of cake for dessert. It was all around perfect!

After a recommendation by friends, we were very disappointed in this restaurant. We arrived for our anniversary dinner without 2 friends and had a drink at the bar. While there we chose a good red wine and asked that it be opened, the waiter said yes. When we got to our table, our wine was sitting there unopened. The sommelier came to our table and stated she put the wine and glasses on the table, she did not know we wanted it opened. Throughout dinner we had to ask for our glasses to be filled, the water service was better than the wine service, for an upscale restaurant very poor.
We ordered ‘bone in ribeye, and a 16oz ribeye, 3 sides. When our steak arrived it was cold, cold. The sides very hot. Did they wait for the sides? No, they came out first.
Overall service, poor, our table was not cleared until we signaled. Dessert carrot cake was actually very good, but not enough for us to return or recommend.
Very disappointing anniversary dinner.

The restaurant was beautiful and classy! The menu was just the right size without a lot of unnecessary extras. The steaks were of the highest quality I’ve ever experienced anywhere! The seafood was delicious and cooked to perfection. All of the additional sides were outstanding as well as the cocktails! Money well spent…definitely going back!!!

Don’t miss the happy hour, daily from 3-6 on the terrace, walk-ons only. A great view and a fire pit, good service and good food. $10 martini is a steal but also have wines, beers and cocktails to choose from. The food is very good and worth it!

The music was a little loud for me.

My girlfriend and I called last minute on a Thursday evening, Stake was able to accommodate us. We had the roasted bone marrow, lobster mash potatoes, sea bass, eye of the rib, Gold Rush and Old Fashioned cocktails. We felt cherished by Jeremy’s service and knowledge, the team was diligent, preemptive, and attentive. We drove from North OC to spend the day in Coronado, and I truly see ourselves driving the 100 miles strictly for Stake Chophouse. They are phenomenal.
